First Encounter - Where Everything Began

Jade POV

What a long day… This time I can run away from him, but will we meet again? I don’t think so.

This long day make me want to soak in warm bath. I better be take my bath now. The warm bath make me feel relax. I do enjoy the bath, but my mind keep remembering today event.

The fact that I met him again, make me remember our first encounter. It’s not like we know each other. We just have same group of friends.

I still remember that day. Our second year in high school, I got lucky to be in the same class with him. Our school one of the best private school in New York. Well, my family used to be well off. Not like him, but enough to make me go to that school.

We happened to know each other because of class project, where we have to make group of five for biology class. They want us to make some kind of project about human body, and we ended up in the same group. I do know him. It’s impossible to not know him, since he is THE star. The brilliant one, the athletes, the billionaire, and the list is never ending.

I still remember how Grace and Thomas start going out and I started to know him a little, and end up being in the same group of class project because of them. Grace is my best friend, whom Thomas is his best friend. We used to do the project in his house. His mother is really nice, and friendly. We rarely talk with each other, but one rainy night change that.

Our project almost done, it will be need to fix a little bit and everything is complete. It’s only the four of us at that time. Our friend, Ethan didn’t join us, since he got injured after the soccer competition. So, he decided to stay at home.

“It’s raining…” Grace said loudly, and I just keep staring at the window.

“Do you brought umbrella, Jade?” She asked

“Nope…I forgot” I replied

“Xander! Can you drop off Jade to her house?” Thomas asked

“You don’t have to. I can order a taxi” I replied to Thomas.

“No! Jade… Let Xander drop you off. It’s will be take a long time to fetch a taxi, since Xander have a car in his house.” Thomas said.

“I don’t mind.” Xander said with a calm voice

“Good then! Then let’s clean this up and go home.” replied Thomas.

It take us 15 minutes to clean up everything, then Thomas and Grace go home.

“Please wait in the living room, I will bring the car.” Xander said

“It’s okay I can follow you to the garage.” I replied.

“Ah…good idea. Let’s go then” He said

I know his house in big. I just didn’t know that this mansion is unexpectedly so big.

“I’m sorry that you have to drop me off” I said

“It’s okay, Jade. I don’t mind. It’s raining and it’s dark. This can help to ease my worry to. I’m afraid if you got any accident.” He said while keep walking to garage.

“Then, I will gladly accept it” I said

“Thank you” He said with a smile

He decided to drive his jeep, since it’s more stable in this weather.

“So, where is your home? Where should I take you?”

“Ah.. It’s in the Lower east side. It’s in The Tribeca Restaurant. We can stop in there.”

“Tribeca Restaurant? I think I ever heard that place.”

“Really? It’s an honor that you know it.”

“An honor? What are you saying? Wait… Is it yours?!” He said like he realize something

“Hahaha.. That’s not mine. My father. My father the owner s***h chef. It’s been his dream. It’s a little restaurant with comfy place and affordable price.” I brag

“Really? I will make sure to go there sometimes. I have to try it”

“Please come. I will serve you.”

“ It’s my pleasure, Ma’am” he joke

The journey to my home take around an hour with the rain and traffic. I do enjoy the ride, since we start to talk with each other, and laugh together. It’s not awkward at all. He’s such a nice person to talk to and really friendly also easy going. No wonder people like him. And I also don’t realize that I started saw him is different light.

Xander POV

It’s been a wonderful night. I still relive the memory of tonight that I met her. After all this year I found her again. Is it still early to propose her? All that I know is I want to make her mine forever. But will she let me? I know that I’m impatient, but I don’t know that she make me feel like this…

I keep staring outside the window with my mind replay the event again and again, until someone open the door of my apartment and yelling

“Alex, what the hell was that? Explain to me” He yelled to me

“What are you talking about?” I said calmly. If he is not my friend I already fired him that he trespass my apartment. Yep! That’s Ethan for you.

“You shut me with your eyes. You know how much I hate that.” He said

“Ohh…come on.. that’s not the first time, certainly not the last time.”

“You are annoying.”

“Thank you”

“So, tell me what happened your eyes keep searching for someone, seems like you lost him…or her…I don’t know”

That’s what I expected from my best friend, even though the whole world know that I’m so collected in the podium. He somehow know that I’m looking for something.

“It’s her. My very first love.”

“Your first love? You mean that girl in high school that you keep talking about? That you keep send people over and over to look for her but never found her? That person?”

“Yes my friend. Her. She’s working for the event organizer that we hired today.”

“What plan are you going to do?”

“And…that where I need your help. You know all I want to make her my wife” And he stunned, like he can’t believe what I said. It’s like I said that I want to kill myself.

“Wait a minute! You want to propose her? After all this year? Are you insane? Do you think she will say yes?…. Oh GOD! Why I have a friend like you?”

“What are you talking about. Is there something wrong with what I said? I just said my intention.”

“Ohh Alex. You need to know who you are. You are the bachelor that everybody fought. Every woman want you..”

“Correction, my money.”

“That’s included, but you just met again after what…10 years? It’s amazing if she say yes. If she’s working for the event organizer, that means she came from the different background with you. Will she adapt with you life? With paparazzi following you around, people know who you are, your life is a public consumption. Can she handle that? You choose this path. How about her? Have you think about it?”

It made me realize, that there are a lot of things in my life that she might find it uncomfortable. Maybe I’m too hasty to propose to her like this, after we met for 10 years.

“Alex, I just want to make sure one thing for you. Are you seriously want to married with her? Life with her for your lifetime? I know you are not someone that enjoy casual s*x or one night stand. You loathed it. But are you 100% sure with her?”

“Yes. I am. After I saw her this evening all that I have in my mind that I married her, make her my wife. Life with her, spend our time together. Somehow my heart said that if I lose her again I will regret it all my life.”

“Okay. You have my support. I will help you as long as I can.”

“Thanks bro.”

“Just be sure, not to hurt her in the process.” That’s my intention and I will protect her. I keep reminding that sentence in my head for a long time.

Ethan decided to spend the night here. It’s doesn’t matter to me, since this penthouse have a lot of room that I ever need. FYI, he already booked a room in this penthouse and decorate it according.
