MITCHELL'S POV
I stared at myself again. I was wearing a cloth, and my hands were tied with chains.
Tears refused to come ; I had cried my eyes out. Am I really evil? This has been the question I keep asking myself.
Aunty Lola had told me how wicked these Mafia are, and how they don't forgive.
Why should I be evil? I hadn't even known what I had done.
This is my second day here, and it's hell. I winced in pain as I crawled to the bathroom. I couldn't even crawl properly because my whole body was burning from the beating I'd been given throughout yesterday.
Flashback
"Take her to room 26," the Capo said in his thick voice, and I gulped down nothing as his scary eyes stared at me.
We entered, and I was tied to a chair. They also used chains to bind my two legs together, and I felt nothing but pain.
The master stared at me, and I felt my skin start to burn. I screamed in pain.
"Arrrggg, please," I pleaded in pain, and his eyes immediately turned red.
The next thing I felt was an invisible slap, and I screamed more. The more I screamed, the harder the invisible slap hit me.
After some time, the Capo told his boys to bring some whips. The whip lay on the floor, and he stared at it, and his eyes turned red.
The next thing I felt was myself being flogged invisibly with all the whips.
I screamed in pain, and the more I screamed, the harder the whip hit me.
After I pleaded, he told his boys to release me from the chair. I was released and fell flat on the floor.
My whole body was on fire, as if an invisible flame were burning me.
I couldn't stand up; I just lay there, sniffling through my tears.
"Stand up now," he said in a scary voice.
I tried to stand up and staggered back. After trying seven times, I lay on the floor, thinking, and his scary voice brought me out of my thoughts.
"I don't know how you want to do it, but before night falls, I want all the flowers in the garden to disappear. Even if you have to use your mouth, it's not my business."
He said and left immediately.
Present day
His boys had already told me he wanted me in his private room before thirty minutes were up. I crawled to the bathroom, feeling really weak.
How would I cope with this kind of life? Wasn't it better to die once and for all?
I took my bath and wore the rag he gave me to wear, then dragged my legs to his office.
I entered to find him fuming in anger. I felt really scared to say a word, so I just bowed down and greeted him.
"Good day, Capo."
"Look who we have here," a familiar voice said.
I turned to see the shock of my life.
Oh no!! Tell me I am dreaming. 😳
I couldn't talk or say anything ; just stared in shock.
Why is it that the people I trust most are the ones hurting me?
Or is it because I am evil that I have to face all this? I asked myself silently.
"She's the one I told you about," Capo said, staring at me with hatred.
So Alex knew about everything, too. Why? Alex and I had always been close ,I believed he was Dad's brother, and we got along easily. I never knew he hated me this much.
So many questions raced through my head.
Is it because I am evil that made my real parents abandon me?
Where did this evil come from?
"So this is her," Alex said, jolting me out of my thoughts, his eyes lingering on me in a way that made my skin crawl.
Lucifer's expression darkened. "Watch yourself," he said coldly, and I felt a strange flicker of relief.
DAMON'S POV
"She's the one I told you about," I said, staring at her.
Alex's attention was fixed on her, and when she looked at him, she looked shocked and betrayed.Alex smirked and looked away, a victorious smile on his face.
Something about the way he looked at her set my teeth on edge.
"She's mine to deal with," I said sharply, and I could tell Alex was surprised by the edge in my voice.
I stared at her, my gaze burning into her. How could someone look this innocent? Even dressed in rags, there was something about her that unsettled me — something familiar I couldn't place.
"We have business to discuss," I said, cutting the moment short. "That's final."
ALEX'S POV
I was fuming with anger as I left Damon's mansion. How was he always the one to have everything?
He is the richest Mafia Lord, the head of all the Mafia, the most dangerous and feared man alive — his name alone strikes terror into criminals.
I had wanted Mitchell for myself for a long time, ever since Uncle and Aunt brought her into our lives. I had planned to confess my feelings to her once she learned the truth — that they were never really her parents , so that she would turn to me instead.
She is the most beautiful, innocent girl I have ever known, and watching her leave with Damon filled me with rage.
Even though our families are enemies, the more I tried to fight the feeling, the deeper it grew. Seeing her unhappy made something twist inside me.
I have tried to convince Damon to hand her over, but he refuses.
I want to be the one she turns to. After I deal with Damon, I will take her far away and make things right between us — no matter what it takes.
"Why him? Why does he always get everything?" I said, furious, and hurled a flower vase across the room, shattering it.
You'll beg for mercy, and it won't save you. It's only a matter of months.
Mitchell, I'm coming for you — because you're mine.
Author POV
Damon felt genuinely angry that Mitchell had nearly caused a rift between him and his oldest ally.
He looked at her again, and something in his chest tightened — an unfamiliar, unwelcome feeling.
"Take her to the east wing," he said in his thick voice, turning away.
MITCHELL'S POV
"Take her to the east wing," he said, and one of his men stepped forward to lead me out.
My legs were shaking as I walked. I didn't know what waited for me there, only that I had survived one storm and had no idea what the next one would bring.
"Strip," he said, and I swallowed nothing.
Don't tell me he wants to hurt me again.
"I said strip," he shouted, his eyes red, looking like a monster. Before I could think of anything else, my body started burning again.
"Arrrrrrrgggg, please stop! Stop! It hurts, please! Please!" I screamed, trying to scream louder, but the pain seized my voice. Tears streamed freely down my face.
I held the hem of my cloth and sluggishly pulled it down, tears still falling.
I covered myself with my hands, but I had never felt so exposed in my life.
"Meet me in my room," he said in his husky voice.
He left, and I followed him sluggishly, my legs trembling with every step.My heart was beating fast.
What did he want from me now? Hadn't he already punished me enough?Even Mama had never seen me like this. Why had life been so cruel to me?
Who had I offended, that I had to endure punishment like this?
Even Alex, whom I trusted with my life, had betrayed me. Mom and Dad had betrayed me too.
Or is it because I am evil? I thought.
Author POV
Mitchell was shaking in terror as she entered Damon's room. He said nothing at first, only stared at her the way a man stares at something he cannot understand — with anger, and something else buried beneath it.
"Sit," he ordered, gesturing to a chair across the room.
She obeyed, too afraid to do otherwise.
Damon paced in front of her, his fists clenched. "Every time I look at you, I feel something I don't understand," he said, more to himself than to her. "And I hate it."
Mitchell said nothing, too terrified to speak, watching him with wide, frightened eyes.
"Alex wants you. Festus wants to use you. Everyone around me wants something from you," he continued coldly. "So tell me — what are you really?"
"I—I don't know what you mean," she stammered, tears sliding down her cheeks. "I've done nothing. I don't even know why I'm here."
He studied her for a long moment, his expression unreadable, before turning away sharply. "Get some sleep. You'll need it."
He left the room without another word, and Minah sank to the floor, her whole body shaking — from fear, from exhaustion, from a night she knew she would never forget, even if the worst of it had been left unspoken between them.
Unknown
I heard she was taken to his room tonight, and my chest tightens with worry.
I just pray she survives this long enough for the truth to come out.
I know there will be scars on her by the time this is over — not all of them the kind you can see. Lucifer is dangerous, and she has no idea what she's truly caught in the middle of.
AMOS' POV
📲 "Hello, Fred, have you seen it?" Ma Tessa asked.
📲 "Yes, ma, thank you, ma — but ma, it's not complete."
📲 "I know. I would send your balance next week."
📲 "Ok, ma, thank you, ma," I said, and hung up.
Fool — she thinks I'm helping her, not knowing we're actually enemies.
Well, let me call the boss and tell him the latest development on our enemies.
I can't wait to see their downfall.
TESSA'S POV
I felt really happy — everything was going as planned.
"It's just a pity Mitchell has to go through all this trouble," Alex said, and I felt shocked.
"And it shouldn't be any of our business, because she is our enemy."
"Well, I just pity her. Can't we use another method?" he asked, and I felt surprised.
"We aren't using any stupid method. That is final."
Unknown
I looked left and right to make sure no one was watching. I carried her, bridal style, to her room and took her to the bathroom.
I brought out the first aid box and cleaned her wounds carefully. I helped her wash and took her to her bed.
I fed her and helped her take her medicine. I laid her gently on the bed, and she fell asleep immediately.
I snuck to my room and called Lola to explain everything happening to her.
ALEX POV
I felt really angry at the way Aunt was talking about Mitchell; it made me angry, but I just needed to be patient.
I promise I would make her feel true love, and I would make her happy for life.
She is my medicine, and I have been addicted to her since she was ten years old. I love her so much, and no one can stop me from making her mine.
I promise I would make her happy, and everyone would envy her. I would shower her with money, love, and so much happiness.
I know she feels the same way about me, because I remember the way she used to look at me whenever we talked. She would feel so happy knowing we're not really family — the feeling is mutual.
FESTUS POV
I felt really angry and sad about what Damon put her through. It makes me unhappy.
How could he treat my angel like trash? My heart is broken seeing her unhappy face, it makes me miserable.
I fell in love with her from the first day she came into this house. I never believed in love, but she made me fall for her. The first day I saw her, my heart skipped.
She is too beautiful to resist, and too innocent. It's just a pity she has to face all this trouble, but I would make it up to her.
We would elope to another country, and no one would find out — not even my brother, Alex
DAMON'S POV
I need blood. I need to feel blood. I grabbed my car keys and ran ; the only thing I needed right now was to spill blood.
My demon was back. The urge to spill blood screamed through my body. I ran to my car, and my boys surrounded me.
"I don't need anyone to follow me. Everybody get out," I shouted, my eyes turning red.
They knew not to disobey — they understood what I needed now.
I got into my car and sped off. I slowed down when I heard someone screaming for help.
I parked my car and traced the voice. I reached the place and found five men attacking a young girl.
"Stand up now!" I shouted. They stood up immediately, and I told the girl,
"Get out!"
"Thank you so much, sir," she said.
"I said get out, before I blow your head off."
She ran immediately.
I turned to the five men. "Get in the car," I told them, and they climbed in, almost in tears.
I sped off to my mansion. As soon as I arrived, I got out, feeling the urge to spill blood grow stronger.
My boys already knew what to do. I entered room five to see them tied up.
My demon needed only one person's blood. I used my eyes, and he fell flat, blood covering his body.
I rubbed the blood over my hands and inhaled it, feeling better.
I inhaled more, and I finally felt truly happy.
