The stench of stale blood assaulted my nose. Had it not been the case I would not have believed what I had been told. The building looked as boring as it normally did, it's once white wall stained and mould increasingly dirtying the wall. The double doors were closed for the first time, which meant something had gone terribly wrong. Entering the building was like entering a new world all together. Everything was a mess, benches broken, windows shattered, which I had not noticed before. They must have been preparing for some ceremony, a few white and blue linens had survived what ever had happened here, the were still hanging behind the alter with only little splutters of blood on them. Even the statue of the virgin Mary had blood dripping off it, it really put the 'bloody' in Bloody Mary. Whatever the alter was originally prepared for is not what it was used for. A silver bowl was half filled with human blood and the source of the blood, which was the head of a young boy, was beside it, eyes closed but it's expression was of pure terror. I poked it, trying to fix it's expression and nearly jumped out of my skin when someone pat my shoulder.
“What are you doing here?” I asked the young vampire. He used to work in a bar as the bartender but the boy was very observant. He agreed to be my informant and now owns the bar. “I thought you would appreciate the support.” He said. I glared at him but that didn't faze him. He pushed the head off the alter and sat on it. “The witches must have had a hand in this, They are preparing for some major ritual and what better way to harvest energy than after a super natural event?” “What ritual?” “One strong enough to return the dead to life, be careful Raven things are about to spiral out of control.”
With that he left. The corpses lying around me, all beheaded placed orderly in a straight line. There were about ten boys here a girl, all dressed in white robes to represent purity. I needed to have a word with the priest.
“Yes?” his voice was hoarse as if he had been crying. “Father Pierre.” “Raven.” His voice trembled, I couldn't here anything around him. He must have been in the confession room. I had Valeria, whose life I was starting to regret ever sparing, put a spell on it to make it more...private. I cut the call and made my way they. I sat on one side of the wall and all I could see from the other side was father Pierre’s side view. “Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned.” “Lets get to the point, shall we?” he stated. “So demanding.” I purred. “I'm not in the-" “Okay, who did this?” I asked with narrowed eyes as I hoped to get a better view of Pierre's face. The man was in his thirties and should not have been qualified to be a priest at that age. His jaw was sharp and eyes a piercing blue, voice deep and rumbly. Without the robes he looked like a super model. “Isn't it obvious? Your friend, Valeria, shows up a few times and this happens?” "Valeria?" “Any other witch? Vampire maybe?” I asked uncertain. “Yeah, some guy. He said his name was Victor or something like that. One of them did something to that poor boy and got my niece killed in the process.” If he were a beast, he would have be snarling by now.” “Now, now, Father, don't be vengeful.” He turn to glare at me, his pupils contracted, lips pursed and brows furrowed. “Does this amuse you?” “Not at all, in fact I think it's time to send a message but first I'll be visiting an old friend.”

“I'm coming with you.” Jason stated. “No you are not.” “What if...” “I'm going to Moonlight Shadow. No harm will befall me in my own pack.” He was starting to annoy me. I understood his reluctance but I was an adult and more than capable of taking care of myself. “There have been sightings of warriors with Triton's crest, it's too risky.” “What is risky is allowing the witches to kill more innocent people for their magic tricks. What is risky is letting them harness enough power to bring back the dead, you know who is dead and if they manage to bring her back we're all f****d, including our prodigal brother.” I growled in frustration. The beast stirred and I had to dig my claws into my palm to remain calm. “What about our other siblings? You know, the ones we made a vow to protect always and forever?” he growled back. “They were the first to break that vow. They left us to fight for our lives when we were most vulnerable. If the witches succeed before I get back, all I can hope for them are painless deaths.” “Raven-" “Enough!” I commanded. I shook like a leaf in the unrelenting storm as I fought to control it. I must not shift, I will not shift. “What you think is acceptable is not my business. When the time comes we will do right by them.” “You do not tell me what do.” “Listen here, sister.” He growled pinning me to the wall. We were in the living room, were I had been packing my knives and I was in no mood to fight him nor destroy the furniture in the process. “If those warriors so much a get a whiff of you, know that what we have here will be as good as gone." He inhaled deeply. “As for our siblings, I gave them my word and I do not intended to break it.” Before I could smack him for being too stupid the sound of light footfalls caught my attention and so did the unmistakable mouth watering scent of my favourite Doctor.
I slipped away from my brother, all signs of anger vanishing. “Marcus.”
Jason POV
I couldn't believe my eyes. My sister, who could bring powerful men to their knees with but a glance, whose rage could burn villages, calmed her shift because of a human. “Marcus.” She called before he even entered. The man was looking around curiously but he was rather tense. As soon as he saw her the tension in his shoulders visibly dissipated. “You live here?” he asked eyes furrowed. “What do you think?” Raven asked glaring at the maid who was still standing beside him. I watched on curious to know what made him special. “No wonder you think like that, this place would drive anyone insane.” He grumbled earning a laugh from my sister. “Thanks, I designed it myself.” She said and turned to the lingering maid. “Have you no work to do?” “Forgive me, al-madam.” She corrected herself and with a bow she scampered off.
“Please take a sit.” She said showed him to a sofa. The one I had evacuated in my attempts to stop her from shifting. I grunted, annoyed. Marcus turned to me, surprised, as if he had not notice me, which must have been the case with his eyes glue on my baby sister. “That's my brother, Jason Blake and Alpha of Moonlight Shadow.” She introduced. I turned to glare at her, why would she-
“What are you?” I asked him, if he knew about us then he must be super natural. “A human. Marcus Jones.” he said extending his hand for me to shake. Raven was about to stop me but I gripped his hand and glared straight at him. I didn't attempt to break it as I had done to numerous others before. I shook his hand just to assert dominance but he acted as if he noticed nothing. He had quite the grip himself, strong for a human but with controlled strength, respectable. With a relieved sigh, Raven sat opposite him and I remained standing, I only wished to know why he was here before leaving myself.
“I apologise for dropping by unannounced-" “The point, Marcus, why the pleasantries?” Raven interrupted. “Fine, this magically appeared in my pocket." Raven took the card he had place on the table and visibly paled. “Jason...” She said showing it to me. It was an invitations to the annual summit for the super natural. I was to host it this weekend but I'm sure I had not sent out any invitations. “This has Valeria written all over it.” I stated. “I don't think so.” Stubborn as usual Raven defended the wench. “Check with your planner, maybe she made a mistake and used the wrong list for invitations.” “No invitations have been sent out.” I stated. “What if she took the initiative, it is this weekend after all.” “Rave-" “Just do it, we don't want a redo of the Forster Mansion.” I grunted before pulling out my phone and calling her.
Forster Mansion had been a highly established hotel with Robert forester as it's owned back in 1960. He was human, ambassador for their kind them but made the ghadtly mistake of hosting a SNC with humans present. His goal being to bring everyone together but fear was all the humans new eith it's influence they instantly tried to kill a vampire. It's safe to say, things escalated rather quickly and no human survived the night.
“Ms McCoy, yes hello. Have the invitation been sent out?” “No, I was about to ask you about it, the event is this Saturday and-"
“Isn't that your b***h wife?” Raven exclaimed. “What?” I mouthed confused. I looked to Marcus whom I hoped to be more informative. He shushed my sister and motioned for me to drag the conversation. “Make sure to send the right invitations to the right people. How is my sister’s dinner coming along?” “Perfectly, the venue has been set and preparations are to begin tomorrow.” “Ok, good day, do keep in touch.” I hung up before she could say anything else.
The invitations for the SNC had a compelling spell on them meant to force whoever they were sent to, to come to the event. It couldn't have been a coincidence that he received the same one despite not being on the list, and early at that. “Who else saw the invitation?” I asked. “My son.” Raven bolted off her sit and had me pinned to the wall in seconds. “Tell me they are normal invitations.” She demanded. She must be attached to this men and his offspring. “Don't be stupid, you ordered them yourself, from Valeria.” I said. “That-" “Am I missing something?” “These invitations are meant to force whoever's invited to make an appearance. If your son saw it then well...” I explained. “It doesn't invite my son.” “It has his name on it, it's not specified by your first name.” I explained. “I could just-" “Nothing you can say or do will keep him from coming, even a broken leg will not deter him." Raven stated. “And such events normally end in bloodbaths.” I added.
“Raven why don't you go pack your knives, elsewhere.” I said tossing her the bag. She frowned and turned to Marcus' pale face. He frowned at the bag but said nothing. “I won't kill him, relax.” I chuckled hoping to lighten the mood but I guess nothing would lighten the mood of a man who knows his son has been compelled to go on a death mission. “You better not.” She grumbled leaving the room.
“What are your intentions for my sister?” I asked, hands behind my back and shoulders squared. I could few my beast stirring, my eyes must have darkened too. “I have no bad intentions for your sister, if that's what you wish to know.” Honest, good. “Is the event planner really your wife?” “No. Ex-wife." I wanted to smack him but I sat down and continued to ask personal questions which he answered easily except one. “How much do you know about your ex-wife?” I sighed, Raven must have expressed some doubts about her. "Before our divorce I would have made a bold claim but now, I'm not so sure anymore." I nod in understanding. We talk some more on topics not irrelevant to out situation. After some tense moments I realised that he could not be so easily swayed. He stood by his word and even when doubt was instilled he never changed his statement. He was an honest character but like his wife changed, he could too. We sat in silence for a long moment nefore I broke the awkwardness.
"Your son, how do you feel about him living with wolves?"
