Threats and Suprises

I was woken up by the harsh pounding on my door, by the sound of it, it could only be Jason. I tagged off my comforter and stomped to the door unwillingly. “What is it?” He grabbed me by the forearms and dragged me out wordlessly. Even though I wanted to protest, I simply followed him to avoid meaningless arguments. “Can I at least wash up before you drag me to god knows where?” I growled and he let me go. I went back to my room, cleaned up and changed clothes before following him to the office. Sitting on my specially selected custom white sofa was none other than Damien Richardson himself. He man that haunted both my nightmares and reality. His presence seemed to plague the room with raw but controlled power making his attempts at hiding his nature futile. Unjustified anger threatened to overwhelm ne by I swung at my stupid heart with an imaginary bat to stop myself from doing something I'd regret. “Mr Richardson.” I said with a nod of acknowledgment. “Alpha Blake...the second.” he said as an after thought no doubt trying to insult me but ended up insulting Jason instead. A low growl came from my brother but I eyed him warningly forcing him to remain calm. “Why are you here?” I asked deciding to get straight to the point. One thing I learn about him was that he had all the time in the world so he wasted it without a care. “Are you forgetting our deal, dear Alpha.” He asked provocatively. He knew Jason had no knowledge of our meeting and wanted to use it against me. My brother remained quiet behind me yet his curiosity could be felt without having to try. “Of course not, I just wish to know why you're here, vampires are not allowed on werewolf territory.” “Those are rule made without my consent, they do not apply to me.” Nothing but forced self-control stopped me from sinking my canines into his neck. Vampires, original or not, were affected by werewolf venom. While normal vampires died slow painful deaths, original suffered only a few hours before they recovered from painful torment. Some took longer than others but pain will always be felt. “Since you so insist on knowing I'll tell you, my sister has been missing for quite the while now, in my good graces I've refrained from violence yet no-one seems to appreciate that...” he spoke for a while in a monotonous voice and I had no choice but to listen to his nonsense. He deliberately spoke slowly and if it was an attempt to piss my off, I must admit he passed with flying colours. “...now, in order to keep that peace I would like to know where she is being kept.” His eyes shone with unspoken threats as if the one he'd given aloud was not enough. His aura was impressive, filling the room with his murderous intent. I watched him with a smile probably more sadistic than I had intended but it showed him what I wanted him to see. He scared me no less than a little kitten stuck in a tree. I was the only one who knew were his sister was and I knew he wouldn't dare to harm me in anyway. I went knocking on his door and I knew what had to be done, I also knew hoe to protect myself and my interests in times like this. “Mr Richardson, we made a deal, you assist me in taking back what's mine and I'll personally bring you your sister, unscathed.” For a moment dark veins appeared beneath his eyes but he composed himself quickly before he said “Then lets go kill some witches...” Our plan was in motion. Although a bit confused, Jason got the bigger picture but I was still forced to explain my plan to him. “How this even possible, the Original was spotted in Shanghai just this morning.” I then realised how my brother had no knowledge of the unfiltered history like I did. I had to explain to him how there was a full family of originals some with more ambitions than others. After a long interrogation he finally let me be and soon we were on a jet the capital. On the plane tolerated as little conversation as I could with Mr Richardson and to make it seem natural I ignored my brother too and Arthur who joined us at the airstrip. I almost cried in frustration when his voice magic-ked my stomach making it twist uncomfortably. Jason slept soundly only to wake up an hour later. He found it amusing to shamelessly flirt with the flight attendant. I tried to sleep too but failed miserably because someone kept staring at me like a creeper. After I finally managed to sleep I woke up to a white ceiling, the colour which I only comprehend after a few seconds of adjusting to the dark room. My spine tingled with the familiar feeling of being watch which disappeared in a gust of wind. I turned to the floor to ceiling window which was wide open. I stood up on instinct and walked to the balcony. Although there was no one there his scent lingered as evidence of his presence. I took a deep breath all signs of sleep evading me. Unsure of what to feel, I went back into the room only now realising I was in a hotel. When I felt Jason carrying me out of the plane and car, I thought he was taking me home, my home. I strode to the bathroom deciding to wash up, it was already 4am anyways. “Are you sure about this?” Mr. Richardson asked with a curious crease etched on his forehead. “Otherwise?” I snapped. I was tired of having my plans doubted, what I said from now on was what we had to do otherwise I'd have their sister frozen in a box the century to come. “Your plan could get us killed.” “Thankfully you can't be killed, can you now?” “How would you know?” Arthur asked amusement twinkling in his eyes. “If there's a way known to other's excluding yourselves then I would know.” I stated as a matter of fact. He merely nodded with a smile before we got back to the matter at hand. “You two will go befriend the witches, Jason meet the leader of the human faction and make sure he understand what needs to be done and the consequences for doing otherwise.” I ordered. “So while we're out there getting our hands dirty what are you going to be doing?” Arthur asked. “Doing the filthy work." I answered with a smile. I was about to have some fun. *** “You have to understand, if Valeria finds out we're helping vampires we will be executed." “Valeria Fernandez?” Arthur asked his tone mixed with both surprise and loathing. “Yes” the young witch answered. “Then make sure she doesn't find out.” Damien said “You have until night fall.” He added indicating the end of their conversation. With that he walked away and Arthur had no choice but to follow even though curiosity nagged at him. “Did you really have to threaten the poor thing?” Arthur mocked. “Unlike you, I prefer getting things done, especially when it includes our missing sister.” He bit out the word missing as though it brought him physically pain. Arthur merely scoffed but said no more. On the other side of town, sat comfortably in the mayor’s house. The man stood before him with balled fist and a tight jaw, no doubt wishing he could punch the Alpha square in the face. “When I came here I did hope I'd have fun persuading you, I never expected you to make my job easier.” Jason said with a chuckle before sipping the whiskey that had the bitterness of wolf's bane. The mayor seemed to relax a bit when he noticed Jason drink yet his opponent smile at him knowing. “You're quite bold for someone caught cheating on his wife with her best friend.” He elder man’s face visibly paled. He looked to be in his early sixties, he had brown and grey hair with more grey than brown and was round at the stomach. He had been mayor for two terms now solely relying on his wife's self made power. Sharon King's was as cunning as she was capable, managing to acquire the power of many business tycoons to keep for herself. The mayor was one of her many victims but realised it only too late. She became the voice of the human against supernatural creatures with very little effort but in order to keep the power the she made a deal with the mayor. Thus they got married but she got to keep everything if ever they divorced. “Are you threatening me?” Although he tried to look tough, the man looked like he was about to collapse. “Indeed I am.” Jason answered unscrupulously. “...but there would be no need for that if you just promised to persuade your wife to choose her friends carefully and her enemies even more.” With that Jason and the mayor came to an agreement. Jason gulped down the poisoned whiskey before making his way, leaving the mayor dumbfounded. Raven on the other hand stood in the midst of corpses. She wore a predatory smile as she gazed at the man who stood hidden in the shadows. “Come out, darling, you know I'd never hurt you...” she mocked striding forward. He remained silent, obviously reluctant to cooperate. “My patience wears thin, Vincent.” She said her voice getting edgy. “Raven..” a young man emerged from the shadows. “I wasn’t expecting you...” “Oh I'm quite aware. I don't normally let traitors leave so longer but you're an exception...” she said and with further ado she caught him by the throat.
