Alex told her Zane was going crazy. She asked why and he told her that her heat must be going to start and that they needed to go home before it did. She said okay. They made it to the house and Alex mind linked John and told him to clear out all the unmated males out of the house because he would hate to have to fight them over Alice. He would do it if he had too. They went to the kitchen to get something to eat before going to their room.

When they got to their room he could tell Alice was confused. He sit down beside her. He asked her what was she thinking. She said it was about her heat. He explained that it was when she was ready to mate with her mate. He told her that's why he didn't want to mark her because he knew her heat would set in after he marked her. She grabbed his hand and said it's okay and she understands everything and that she would love to mate with him. He was so excited and so were their wolves. Alex told her that he would not do it until she was completely sure she wanted it.

They were laying in bed sleeping when Alice screamed. Alex jumped up to see why. And Zane said her heat started. So he grabbed her and brought her close to him and kissed her til it was over. When it was done. She told him thanks. He told her that the pain will only get worse. She told him she will be okay. He said he don't know how long he can hold off from touching her. Because it's hard for him to see her that way. She said whatever happens it will be good. She said at least it would be with someone she loves and that would take care of her.

The next morning another wave hit her and she kissed him and woke him up. She wanted more than a kiss. He picked her up and carried her to the bathroom. He set her down and ran them a bath. Then they got in. Her heat finally quit and she looked at him and she told him she don't know how long she can deal with the pain. He told her he would be by her side the whole time. She blushes and gave him a kiss. Then she said she was the luckiest girl in the world.

He said he was the luckiest man in the world to have a mate that is so pretty and cared about everyone. They got out and got dressed. Then they just spent the day relaxing and watched movies. They were enjoying time together. When another wave of heat hit her. She was crying.
