THE HUGE SACRIFICE

I decided to send Mira back to her hostel tonight so no one would be able to trace where she'd been hiding all this time, especially now that it was late.
Strangely, the decision sat heavily in my chest.
I spent hours thinking before finally entering the room she was staying in, and when I gathered enough courage to tell her I was ready to let her go... I somehow ended up begging her for a kiss before we parted ways.
Pathetic.
We were never even a couple in the first place.
And the crazy thing? She agreed.
Only to jump away from me at the last second like I was some poisonous insect trying to sting her. I stayed seated on the bed after she ran out, staring silently at the door she'd escaped through.
I didn't even bother chasing after her.
