I watched Ronan and Dominic slowly back away from each other, the tension easing little by little. All eyes shifted to Kael at once, though Ronan's quiet grumbling could still be heard in the background.
The moment my gaze landed on Kael, my heart betrayed me.
A rush of chills swept through my body, and my pulse struggled before racing wildly in my chest.
It felt ridiculous. Like seeing an ex when we'd never even been together. But the strange excitement that came with seeing him vanished the second my eyes dropped to his arm. Seraphina was wrapped around it. Her fingers curled possessively around his sleeve as though she belonged there.
