Three days later, Jean appeared to me again, standing on the edge of a rooftop with her golden eyes dim and serious, like she was carrying news she didn’t want to share. “The spell is unraveling,” she said. “It was built on sacrifice, not truth—and all these bonds you’ve rebuilt are tearing it apart. Every time they remember you, every time you stand beside them, it gets weaker. If it breaks completely, it could unravel reality itself—wipe out memories, shatter worlds, destroy everything you’ve fought to protect. Or… if you choose it, it could rewrite itself. You have to decide: seal it again, and go back to being a stranger, or let it break and risk everything for the chance to be known.” I stood in the middle of Times Square as the sky swirled purple and gold, magic crackling through the air like lightning, people pausing to stare at the strange lights above. I thought of Aunt May’s voice, of Uncle Ben’s words, of every time I had chosen to suffer alone so others wouldn’t have to. I looked at Ned, MJ, and Harry standing beside me, their faces set, their hands ready, and I knew my answer. “I choose them,” I shouted, loud enough for the whole city to hear. “I choose us!” The light exploded—bright, warm, and blinding—washing over every street, every building, every person in New York.
