Episode 16:The First Job

Madam Cynthia sat down gracefully. “That’s wonderful. Now listen, sweetheart. Your first gig is tomorrow, so we need to get you ready. I’ve arranged everything. First, we’ll take you to the salon for a full makeover. They will do your hair, makeup, and nails so you look stunning. Then we’ll go to the spa. They will wash your entire body, give you a massage, and make your skin soft and glowing. We need to make you look very beautiful. The better you look, the more dollars you will make.”

Jane listened carefully. The words “first gig” made her heart beat a little faster, but she pushed the nervous feeling away. She reminded herself it was just one dog, some videos, and then big money. An easy life.

Madam Cynthia continued in her sweet voice, “After the salon and spa, they will style your hair perfectly. You will feel like a new woman. This is all part of taking care of you. The investors like pretty, clean girls. You will make good money tomorrow.”

Jane nodded, her eyes bright with happiness. “I’m ready,” she said softly. “I want to start this new life quickly.”

Madam Cynthia smiled wider, clearly pleased. “That’s my good girl. The car is waiting outside. Let’s go make you beautiful.”

Jane stood up, feeling a rush of excitement. She was going to the salon and spa — things she had only seen in magazines or on TV. No more hard cleaning work. No more bruises from carrying water. Just pretty clothes, good food, and easy money. She followed Madam Cynthia out of the apartment with a big smile on her face.

She was very happy because she believed her new life was starting right now, and everything was going to be easy from here.

Jane stepped out of the car with Madam Cynthia and walked into the fancy salon. The place smelled of sweet shampoo and fresh flowers. The ladies inside smiled at her and treated her like a princess. They washed her hair with warm water, cut and styled it nicely, and painted her nails a soft pink color. They even did light makeup on her face. Jane sat quietly, enjoying every moment. She had never been taken care of like this before.

After the salon, they drove straight to the spa. The warm room felt like heaven. Gentle hands scrubbed her body with sweet-smelling soap, massaged her shoulders and back, and made her skin feel soft and clean. The hot towels and warm oils relaxed every part of her that was still sore from the accident. By the time they finished, Jane stood in front of the big mirror and almost could not believe her eyes.

She had changed.

She looked so pretty and beautiful. Her hair fell in soft waves, her skin glowed, and the new clothes made her look like a completely different person. A small, happy smile stayed on her face the whole ride back to the apartment.

When she got back, she was shocked again. A long line of beautiful clothes was waiting for her on the bed and couch. Madam Cynthia had ordered everything — dresses, tops, skirts, and new underwear. Jane tried them on one by one, feeling the soft fabric against her skin. She made her choice and picked a simple but pretty white dress that made her look sweet and innocent.

The next morning, Jane woke up early. They had already prepared a nice breakfast for her — eggs, toast, fruit, and hot tea. She ate slowly, feeling nervous but excited. A makeup artist came to the apartment and did her face again, making her eyes shine and her lips look soft. When she looked in the mirror, she felt beautiful. Madam Cynthia arrived looking happy and proud.

“You look perfect, dear,” she said. “Today is your first day. Let’s go.”

Jane and Madam Cynthia got into the car. They drove for a while until they reached a big, private estate on the edge of town. A tall gate opened for them. The place looked rich and hidden — perfect for the Dog Men’s secret business.

When they walked inside the main building, three men were already sitting in the large room. They were well-dressed and looked important. They welcomed Jane warmly, greeted her with smiles, and told her she was in the right place.
