Episode 15 :Madam Cynthia’s visit

730 Words
After the bath, she took a quick warming shower to rinse off. The hot water from the shower head felt even better. Steam filled the bathroom, and Jane smiled under the stream. She had not experienced anything this comforting in such a long time. When she finally stepped out, her skin felt soft and clean. She dried herself with a thick, fluffy towel and put on one of the new clothes Madam Cynthia had bought her — the soft blue blouse and comfortable jeans. She looked at herself in the mirror and felt pretty for the first time in years. Jane rested on the big, soft couch afterward. She ate some of the food from the fridge — fresh bread with cheese and a glass of cold milk. Her body felt peaceful. No more hunger pains. No more worrying about the next day’s work. She lay down on the comfortable bed early that night and slept very well. The mattress was soft, the sheets were clean, and the room was quiet and warm. For the first time in a long while, Jane slept deeply without crying or waking up from cold or worry. She was very happy. Meanwhile, far away, Madam Cynthia’s twin sister found out that Jane had chosen Cynthia’s side. She became furious. Anger burned in her eyes as she paced in her own elegant office. Black Streak Company was supposed to get the girl. She had given clear orders. She picked up her phone and made a sharp call to Alexander. When he answered, her voice was cold and full of rage. “I told you to bring her to me, Alexander!” she shouted. “You have disappointed me. How could you let Cynthia take her? She is perfect for my business — selling her to wealthy men would have brought in serious money. Now my sister has her. Fix this!” Alexander listened calmly on the other end. He tried to explain, but her anger was too strong. She threw things around her office in frustration, her voice rising. “You were supposed to deliver her to Black Streak. Now I have to deal with my sister again. Do not disappoint me twice!” Alexander stayed quiet until she finished. He knew how dangerous the rivalry between the twin sisters was. He ended the call politely and immediately tried to reach Jane. But Jane did not have a phone yet. He drove straight to the beautiful apartment building where she was now staying. When he arrived, Madam Cynthia’s guards were standing at the entrance. They blocked his way firmly. “Sorry, sir,” one guard said. “No visitors allowed without Madam Cynthia’s permission. Jane is resting. Please leave.” Alexander tried to argue calmly, but the guards would not let him in. He stood outside for a few minutes, looking at the building with a serious face. Then he turned and walked back to his car. He knew a storm was coming, just as he had told his contact on the phone earlier. Things did not go well when Madam Cynthia stayed silent. The next morning, Jane woke up feeling refreshed. Sunlight streamed through the clean windows. She smiled as she remembered where she was. No more collapsing apartment. No more daily struggle. She had another warm bath, enjoying the hot water even more than the night before. After drying off, she put on fresh new clothes. When she came out of the bedroom, she saw that someone had prepared a nice meal for her. A plate of scrambled eggs, toast, fresh fruit, and a glass of warm milk waited on the table. It smelled wonderful. Jane sat down and ate slowly, savoring every bite. She felt cared for and happy. While she was finishing her breakfast, there was a soft knock at the door. Madam Cynthia walked in, looking as beautiful and elegant as ever. She wore a stylish outfit, smelled of her lovely floral perfume, and had a warm smile on her face. “Good morning, Jane dear,” she said happily. “You look much better already. I’m so glad you decided to join us. Today is going to be a special day for you.” Jane smiled back, still feeling excited about her new life. “Thank you for everything. The apartment is beautiful, and I slept so well.”
