“Hayes, what are you doing?” I blurted out, my voice sharper than I intended. I couldn't take it anymore. His steps were slow as calculated properly, tracing his gaze, they were locked on Ethan like a predator sizing up its young prey.
I felt something sink and twist in my guts; Something told me he was about to go do something reckless, something he would regret.
I stood up, swallowed hard, and prepared for the worst. Ethan had his gaze fixed on Hayes too.
