Ethan’s POV
I stood there, lost in a whirlwind of haze. Not a lot of people know about my other name, Rodriguez. My mother and I had agreed to discard the name to let the past lie low.
“What do you know?”
“Everything you think I do.” She smiled mockingly, “And everything you think I don't.”
“Valerie, some things are left unsaid in public and I expect you to be old enough to know that.”
Valerie was about to bite more than her mouth and it was pissing me off already. A simple proposal which would be beneficial to us both. What bad is that?
“It is just a simple proposal, Valerie. It’s a very simple proposal. Why does it seem difficult for you to adjust to it or what were you expecting from me?”
