Staring at Roco, I felt a lump form in my throat. It was thick and quite suffocating. My hands, suddenly moist, curled at my sides into fists.
My tongue is like sandpaper with my mouth completely dry. I couldn't help but wonder why he had asked me to keep that promise.
Roco’s eyes were wide and filled with expectations, they were locked into mine, unblinking with his little lips curled into curiosity.
His fingers were dipped into his pocket as he stood there nervous and staring at me. Did he already know? Was he trying to test me? But he is just a kid. He can't be that smart to test an adult.
