Ryan dialed Laurence's number again. The rest of their team was in the Galley restaurant, a spacious night spot in the center of the city. Everyone was there, except him. Which was utterly out of character, considering it was the first time he ever skipped a team celebration since they joined the varsity team three years ago.
"Any luck?"
Ron asked.
"He's not answering."
Ryan replied and gulped his beer.
"Where do you think he is?"
Matt joined in after several minutes of observing on the side.
Even coach Cal asked earlier where Laurence was. Besides them being a close-knit team, he was the MVP in their first win, yet he was nowhere to be found. Except for the short text he sent him after he left the gym, nobody heard from him anymore.
