'6 missed calls'
Milly didn't notice Laurence had been calling her the whole lunch hour. She totally forgot that they were supposed to meet at the cafeteria at twelve! It was already one-thirty in the afternoon and she was nowhere near the school. Dialing his number, Amelia closed the front gate and strode into the yard.
"Love!"
She could hear him huffing loudly on the other line.
"I was calling you earlier and waited until around twelve-thirty, forty-five, but Ryan and Matt came so when you didn't answer I just went with them."
Milly smiled at the urgency in his voice.
"I'm so sorry...I went for pizza with Alice and the others and didn't notice the time. My phone was on silent before the rehearsal too and I forgot to change it back after."
