I arched an eyebrow, a teasing smile curling on my lips.
“Ohhh, now that’s the point. It’s not that I’m being stubborn—it’s that my friend’s the problem. So apparently, all the issues in our marriage can just be blamed on someone else. Convenient.”
Seeing his frown deepen, I let the smile slip, getting serious as I locked eyes with him.
“Listen, she gave me a real home when I had nowhere else to go. You don’t get to judge her. And don’t even think about using your control-freak logic to manipulate my friends.”
“If it weren’t for her, you wouldn’t have been away from me this long. She should’ve been the one pushing you back to me, not letting you stay out half the night. Yeah, her dad’s loaded, but her upbringing? Clearly lacking.”
