The event

After preparing all of the food for the event I was finally ready. I was feeling a little bit nervous. After what happened between me and Luciano I was insecure. But I knew I had a job to do so time to push all those feelings down for now. It was fine, I’m fine everything is fine. I informed Jax’s the day we spoke that I didn’t have any servers so he had to provide them, but I would be helping serve with them. Quality control is very important! It was pretty cute that he asked if Emily could help out with the event. I’m pretty sure they’re crushing on each other. As me and Emily were driving to the event I still felt this nervousness and I didn’t know why. I have catered events before this so I don’t know why I was feeling nervous. like something was gonna happen tonight and I don’t think it is a good something. As we pull up to this beautiful gallery I read the sign “Vera gallery and studio”. I never asked Luciano what he does but please don’t tell me that this is his art gallery, I don’t think I can see him after what happened. I see the signs on where to set up and quickly start getting to work. I had all the server try the food then explained to them what everything was so they can give the guest the correct information. After I was set up it was time to fill the trays and mingle.

“Alright, make sure to smile and don’t bother the guest unless asked” I announced

Walking through the art show was amazing. Jax’s was handsome but his crowning glory was his paintings. Every little detail in them telling a story. He really loved what he did and showed in his work. I only had a moment to go around, then I was back in the kitchen putting cheesecakes and mini quiche’s on the trays. I was having so much fun I didn’t notice that is was going to be over soon. I poured the champagne into flutes and sent them out. Jax’s Took that as his cue and he clanked his glass.

“Thank you for coming and supporting me, I was nervous to have so many eyes on my art” he chuckled “but it was amazing hearing everyone praises and kind words, I’m truly humbled. I wanted to also thank our wonderful host, owner of this beautiful gallery and my best friend Luciano Vera” Jax’s raised his glass, everyone raised there glasses in unison to cheers. The air in my lungs leave my body. I have never seen anyone so beautiful in my life. His soft black curles shining perfectly in a midnight blue suit and crisp white button up shirt but no tie just the top button undone. So f*****g sexy! I turn around quickly before he could see me, hopefully.. before I could retreat to the kitchen Jax’s announces “Also a thank you to Kiki Barns the wonderful chef behind tonight’s delicious treats” everyone drank, I smiled shyly and nodded my head in thanks. Well there goes my getting out of here unnoticed plan. I go back to my hiding in the kitchen plan, but then I see him heading right to me so I quickly go in the other direction. PLAN C IT IS! I find my self by the restrooms and a back door out. I turn to go to the bathroom to fake pee and hide. He quickly catches my hand spinning me around. capturing my green eyes with his, The blue gray replace with an cool blue. Even angry he still draws me in. I stare back in exaggerated surprise.
