Chapter 5: The Hero’s Punch Goes Awry

1296 Words
Todd had the upper hand, but no matter how many times his fists connected with Elmo’s face and body, he could not manage to put the older man down. The man was a soldier. He knew how to take a lickin’ and keep on tickin’, and, eventually, Todd became very tired. He knew that he could not defeat his opponent by this method, so he stopped. He took a step back and assessed the situation.   Elmo’s forehead was also sweating. His nose had stopped bleeding, but he had lost a lot of blood and he felt faint. He looked at Todd, smiled, and said, "Young Master, you are a good fighter. You have earned my respect today. I noticed that some of your moves are based on a form of Kung Fu. Did you have a private instructor?”    "I learned by watching videos on the Internet," Todd replied. Someone had brought a few bottles of water. He handed one to each of the fighters. Todd took his, and after taking a sip, he said, “Take your time with the water if you need to. We will continue to fight once our bottles are empty.” Elmo nodded. He did not believe that Todd had learned to fight by watching videos, and something about the look in the boy’s eyes scared him. They were no longer the eyes of an innocent boy. They were the eyes of a street-hardened man. He thought - With everything that is planned for tomorrow, this is an inconvenient time for this side of Todd to emerge…  Elmo pressed the cold bottle to his forehead and sighed. It felt so good. Finally, he cracked the top and guzzled half the bottle in one go. Todd watched him from three or four meters away, and he smiled. Unbeknownst to Elmo, he had arranged for a pill to be dissolved into his water. It was one of the pills that the older man had offered him earlier that day – for Eve. Once their bottles were empty, Todd stood up and said, “Alright. Let’s do this.” Elmo looked up and sneered. We end it now – he thought. He got to his feet and took the fighter’s stance, and as Todd came at him, he realized what his previous mistake was. He had continued to underestimate the younger fighter, even after he knew better. He was ashamed of this, but he was glad that it was not too late to rectify the situation. As Todd approached him, he told himself to have patience and to not allow himself to be baited. Todd began to punch him, but he just held his stance, blocking the jabs that he could and ignoring the ones that he could not. He was waiting for the perfect opening, and when it appeared, he punched the boy in the face with all of his strength. When he was a soldier, his mates had called this move ‘The Hero’s Punch.’ Typically, it put people in the hospital, so he was stunned when Todd took it. The boy was pushed back a half-foot, but that was it. Todd grinned and he spat blood on the ground between him and Elmo. The Hero’s Punch had hurt like Hell, but it had not packed nearly as much punch as Elmo assumed that it had, and he was determined to act as if he had barely felt it. He chuckled and asked, “Is that all that you’ve got?” Elmo growled as he tried to punch Todd again. He was barely in control of himself, though, and the blow was easily deflected. Then the boy grabbed his hand, and he used a common Kung Fu move to spin him around and snap his wrist and then his elbow.   Elmo shrieked in pain and his face instantly turned pale. He still did not understand why his Hero’s Punch had been so ineffective. Finally, Todd gave him a shove and he fell to the ground. The boy walked up to him and grinned. “What happened just now?” he asked. “It seems that you got what you deserved. I wanted to see what those pills you gave me did, so I had one dissolved in your water. Boy am I glad that I didn’t give one to Eve…” When Elmo heard Todd's words, he finally understood why his Hero’s Punch had gone awry. He opened his mouth, but no words came out. The pill was reaching its full potency in his blood system, and he could barely move. He closed his mouth, and as his eyelids slowly closed, he lost consciousness.   Todd looked at the students and ordered them to bring Zachery and Elmo to the car. They nodded and without another word from him, they scurried off to do his business. Once they were done, Todd gathered them together and said, “Look; I know that most of you don't respect me. You follow me because I have money, and I am fine with that. But you cannot betray me after taking advantage of me. After today, you owe me your loyalty, and you have just seen what happens to people that betray my loyalty."   Right away, the students argued that they were not like that. They said that they respected Todd and that they were his friends through thick and thin. Todd wanted to believe them, but he knew better. Finally, he said, “Well, we will see, won’t we?” Then, without another word, he headed back to the car, sat in the driver’s seat, and sped away. He had accomplished so much already, but it was not even noon yet, and there was still much to be done. His next stop was the hardware store. He needed two massive locks and two iron chains. From there he went to an abandoned chemical factory on the edge of town. Once he parked the car, he dragged his prisoners out of the trunk He tied their hands and feet with the iron chains and locked them to a post. Then he confiscated their cell phones and wallets. Finally, he took a water bottle from the car and poured it on their heads.   Gradually, Zachery and Elmo woke up, and when they realized that they were chained to a post, they began to panic. “Wh-What do you w-want?” Zachery stuttered. “I thought we were the best of friends, but you have treated me so badly today… Why?” “And I have always been your loyal driver…” Elmo added. “I thought we were just sparring, but you seemed to be trying to kill me…” “Loyal!” Todd scoffed. He smiled as he pulled his p***s out of his pants and proceeded to urinate on the two traitors. “How dare you speak to me of loyalty. The cat is out of the bag. Do you understand? I know about your plans to ruin my family! What do you have to say for yourself?” It seemed that Todd had run out of urine and Zachery opened his mouth to reply. The moment his lips separated, though, Todd’s prick twitched, and one last s***h of piss hit the back of the other boy’s throat. Todd tucked his p***s back into his pants as Zachery began to cough. Seconds later, he threw upon himself, and when Elmo got a whiff of it, he turned his head and vomited on the sidewalk beside him.
