Chapter 8 Appeal She ran as fast as she could to get as far away from the campsite she’d set up a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, she couldn’t run far enough. She was still weak from her months in captivity, and most of the food she’d stolen from those campsites hadn’t been nutritious. Mostly lunch meat, a few cans of soda, and sweets. Lots of sweets. She hadn’t realized how much she’d missed treats like cookies and brownies until she’d torn into a package of gingersnaps and devoured the entire bag in one sitting. No, she hadn’t been eating properly while she’d been in hiding, and she had no one to blame but herself. She knew she should have been hunting for her own food. She’d been a good huntress…once.
