As I arrived at my destination. It was a huge establishment with glass doors.I was greeted by a busy environment, it had fine clean Smooth floors and a well decorated ceiling. Everyone was so busy and I found it difficult to find the interviewer all I saw was people moving up and down.
I struggled through the crowed then I slipped into a corner to catch my breath, yeah I'm claustrophobic,
just then I found ppl about 3 seated, nicely dressed, it turns out they are here for the interview
I grabbed a seat
after they had gone in one by one, it was finally my time to shine
I was literally shaking, so scared
I walked into the office, took a seat,
he started with questions like
"Walk me through the full document lifecycle from initial drafting to archival or disposal."
"How do you handle version control when multiple team members edit a document simultaneously?"
"Which EDMS platforms are you experienced with, and how do you configure role-based access control (RBAC)?"
I answered them perfectly, flawlessly
"ma'am please could you submit your documents"
I gave them to him, he checked everything but I noted a trace of disgust on his face
with his eyebrows swinted he asked
"where are your Background & Criminal Clearance documents"
my heart sank
I searched through my documents, almost trashing his table, but couldn't find it
I must have left it at home while rushing here
""Thank you for your time today. However, as this role strictly requires Background & Criminal Clearance prior to moving forward, we won't be able to proceed with your application at this stage."
I was frustrated, my eyes welling with tears, I didn't know what to do or say, I could stand up either
I managed to pick up myself...... moving towards the door, it burst open
a tall black suited guy walked in, he had a perfect jaw lines with this great look of authority on him
immediately the interviewer stood up immediately bowing as a sign of respect to him
good day si...........
before he could finish he said
I'll take it from here...........
miss Brianna come with me,
I was confused but the pressure...
I packed my papers and followed immediately.
He was quite tall, blonde but never gave a welcoming smile.
Let's start with a name, I'm Charles, Charles Austin.
ummm I'm Brianna Claire , I said
He turned to me unexpectedly, I froze,
the rules are simple,
no squabbles
no mumbles
diligence needed
laziness not tolerated
no dates while on duty
oh and most importantly NO FLIRTING
He said in one breath as he turned and continued walking
I was lost
hey, I said walking quickly after him
what do you mean no "flirting"
do I look like a flirtatious person,
I said looking very offended, although I wasn't, I just hate being called a flirt by a strange person
He halted, turned to me and gave a sharp smile, leaned forward, held my chin like I was a child
You eyes are enough to tell me who you are darling
I slapped his hand off me and tried as much as I could to look annoyed
I had forced a it's-all-right-look cause I didn't want to lose my job on the first day for being unprofessional with my "Boss".
After walking shortly we arrived to a door quite old fashioned but made with modern materials. It was a perfect blend.
He opened the door which led to another department.
Like, how could such a small door lead to such a big compartment.
As he stepped in, I was intimidated by the abrupt silence, you could literally hear a pin drop,
everyone stood and greeted
"good day master Charles "
master?????????
he nodded slightly
immediately everything return to normal
Charles spoke once more not facing me
This is my family, welcome to surmount filing and dialing department.
He ran his fingers across a Fireproof Lateral Filing Cabinets and said
these are my babies and I won't tolerate any misconduct around them.
why did he suddenly come to pick me up from the interviewer's office
Other people with complete documents were present but he came himself to bring me here
I'm so confused,
do I know em......no no no
I kept the banter In my head not listening to what Charles was saying
this day is so crazy........
He pointed out a seat near an already set up table at the front right corner, quite at the edge of the room
it was a perfect spot for being my self- lonely and quiet
I was the only one in that section apart from a girl who wore something similar to my clothes but hers looks more exposive
why isn't she the one called flirtatious.
she seemed quiet just doing her job perfectly.
Charles gave a gesture and I started moving towards the place he pointed.
As I moved towards her, I felt all eyes on me.
deep breaths you can do this, it's just one girl, we'll get along some how.
I ain't that much of a social person
She was blonde, I couldn't help but recognize her thick black long hair which captured eyes effortlessly.
her dress was very professional but looks altered by fashion although it fitted her.
it was a white top she, she had tied the bottom of the shirt
Her top had it's first three buttons loose, her dressing was accompanied by high black shoes which glimmered showing how expensive it could be.
her skin was black short and slit at the back
Honestly, inside I feared I would be dealing with a slay queen but nope, that's an atom from the ice berg, an understatement.
I placed my stuffs on the table just how hers were placed.
the job looked easy but I could see the exhaustion on her face.
why is she looking so stressed out
all she did was going through some papers,
sorting them
storing some and placing some on the delivery list to other departments.
she imputed some on the computer, she walked Hastingly from side to side
okay, that is exhausting!!!!!!
okay, i said rubbing my palms cause I feel it, oh this is going to be fun, I just know it.
