REALLY?

I stood firm and gave myself a brief inspirational speech. I walked up to her and held out my hand "good day" she looked at me and gave a wry smile. she said "oh your my assistance, chop chop get to work, arrange the the papers"

Just then Charles walked up to us maintaining his unusual cool demeanor as he said "Brianna this is Scarlett raven, scarlet this is Brianna Claire

she is your co worker and not your assistant"

I kept an innocent girl smile and I stretch my hand to shake her but she looked at my hands and completely ignored me. she shifted her gaze immediately to Charles and gave him a flirtatious smile then said

"you're looking hot today my Charles"

"get back to work miss raven"

I quietly laughed but making sure she noticed my mockery

her face lit with embarrassment as she returned to her seat

I had no interest in talking to her or asking questions so I just sticked to the manual.

It seemed Charles was the manager of the entire department,

it's hard not to notice the fear and respect in every one's eyes as he goes along.....

While I went through the papers I could easily tell this was the Records and Document Control department

it ensures that every physical and digital document is accurately created, safely stored, easily found, and legally compliant.

While I went through the papers, I saw a woman walking up to me, I felt my blood drain as I thought she was about to give a complaint on my work attitude just like the others,

from her work outfit you could tell she has power and status. She was tall, elegant, beautiful and mature with fair legs that elevated her hips that swayed as she walked but she carried a serious demeanor that was intimidating.

As I saw her I quickly turned and acted like I was working, when she got to where I was, I turned

"good day, you're looking beautiful this morning, I could barely tell it's you"

I said smiling but I could feel the beads of perspiration on my brow.

before I finish talking she said

"you haven't seen me before, have you"

"no"

I said feeling defeated

"no need to be scared or intimidated,

I am Amira Austin"

"are you Charles wife" I said

she erupted into a laughter that drew attention of others,

who knew this woman could laugh

"no, no, no, I am his sister and also the manager of Research and Development department"

I immediately nodded

she began walking towards the exit and then she signaled me to follow her.

I quickly dropped the paper in my hand and followed her immediately.

When we were out of the department she turned to me immediately and gave me a glare like trying to note out my facial features.

I was taken by surprise, and gasped

ahh she really is Charles sister

she faced forward and continued walking with her hands at her back and her head held high

"I read your resume and I did a research on your back ground and found out that you new in this town"

what a research on my background!!!!

"you did a research on my background, is that necessary?"

"yes" she said explaining no further

she turned to look at me again without warning and said

"do you know that this department you work in is very important and confidential ?"

"no and why ?"

"you'll find out soon enough"

she faced front and continued walking then she continued speaking

"The surmount is a very successful company in Somaliland, it is government based though it is mainly owned by Asher Sterling Delaroche who inherited it from his father Kosher Delaroche.

No one has seen Asher in person because he is at the same level of fame and power with the president,

Asher is the richest man in the country and has companies everywhere and the surmount is luckily among the top 5 successful companies.

The current part owner of the surmount is his junior brother Vincent Delaroche.

And Charles being a manager and head of two department is a matrilineal relative of Asher"

no wonder Scarlett tried to get on his good side

"so why is the FD (filing and dailing) department very important ?"

she remained silent and didn't give an answer

then she walked into an elevator and I joined

she looked at me and smiled,

“you will really be perfect for the job"

I was confused but I didn't say a word

The elevator was set to the 70th floor which was the top floor and only Charles and Maria's office lies there as they are at the top of the company.

I was confused, why am I taken to the top floor

her cool demeanor got me crazy, I couldn't ascertain what was next.....

all I was thinking of was what I did wrong , like ........

maybe she wants to sack me and throw me from the window of her office

these things were impossible but fears and possibilities kept me trembling in the elevator even if I tried to remain calm.
