"Don't you think you should tell me what's going on with you Bella?" Luciana finally asked Arabella who was munching on a chocolate bar with a far away look in her face.
"Give me a sec, Lucy." Arabella muttered and made a call to her mom telling her she would be spending the night at Desiree's place.
"Alright hun, do whatever you want, I just got news your dad won't be back for the next two days as he is busy with the campaign and all the rest." Aurora said from the other end.
"That explains his absence from my graduation. Anyways don't miss me too much and tell Kelly not to think of stealing my pajamas tonight." Arabella joked and bidded her mom goodbye before ending the call.
Just as Desiree came in holding a large bowl of popcorn, a bottle of red wine which she obviously stole from her dad's cabinet and three glasses which she set down on the floor.
"Who is in for a movie tonight? And guess what is the latest kdrama "Love nextdoor" heard it's interesting we should take a look." Desiree kept blabbing non-stop. Least I forget to mention Desiree is a freak when it comes to k-dramas they don't escape her.
"We all know that's the only thing in that brain of yours." Arabella said while Desiree glared at her.
"Are you girls going to reply my question earlier or what?" Luciana asked again as she laid face flat in her stomach with a hand supporting her chin, she used the other hand to grab a chocolate bar which she tore open and took a bite still looking at the two.
"Well...." Arabella started but couldn't continue as tears filled her eyes, who wouldn't be pained when they had gone through such ordeal.
"I was r***d last night at the sleepover." Arabella forced the words out of her mouth since they tasted bitter, what followed next was a scream from Luciana which startled Desiree who was about to pick a candy bar.
"What!!!!!"
"Stop screaming, it's late already do you want to wake Auntie and Uncle?" Arabella asked slowly which got Luciana scrambling to a sitting position.
"Who the hell would do that to you? And why didn't you say anything to your parents? Did you get to see his face?" Luciana bombarded all at once.
Arabella face flashed with something but it disappeared before Luciana could see it but Desiree caught on.
"Nope I didn't see him, the basement was dimly lit and he had a mask on, and as for why I don't tell my parents.... I feel to ashame and dirty..... it feels like am really filthy." Arabella said and broke into tears regretting why she couldn't just tell the truth even at this point she didn't know why she was protecting the culprit behind her predicament. The girls rallied around her as they tried to console her.
Desiree felt pained she knew Arabella was hiding something, she was always twisted the hem of her garment whenever she lied and she did that when she spoke earlier which meant she knew who did it.
"I swear but I'mma punched the living daylight out of the bastard who did this to you once I get my hands on him." Desiree said with a serious expression o her face which made Arabella feel bad for hiding the truth from them, the truth about Romeo been the culprit she thought as she squeezed the hem of her clothes.
"Don't let my mood ruin movie night, let's get this sleepover running." Arabella said adjusting her mood as she tapped the laptop to play the movie soon the girl had their full concentration on the movie each lying face down.
A good Samaritan had managed to pull Romeo out of the before it blew up, luckily it wasn't a rowdy area with building as it was kinda desolate which helped contain the fire but for Romeo it was another case, the sound of siren could be heard as cops surveyed the area, the pre-medic quickly wheeled a stretcher where they place the bloody and unconscious Romeo back into the ambulance which was soon on the way to the hospital.
Alexander and Pierce sat down in the booth each drinking a glass of vodka as they chatted about their University preferences when Alexander phone rang loudly on the table, he hissed seeing the caller ID.
"Why are you sighing? Is it one of your bitches? Pierce asked not sparing Alexander phone a glance as he took another sip from his vodka.
"Nah, it's Romeo, that dude is a psycho shutting us out when he feels like and...."
"Pick the damn call already, I need some quiet." Pierce said interrupting Xander who frowned at him.
"If you need some quiet so badly then go back home, this is a bar and not some library." Alexander retorted sharply at Pierce who only scoffed at him. Still he picked up the phone when it didn't stop ringing.
The news he heard got him shouting and running out of the bar with Pierce trailing behind him with a confused expression.
"Romeo got involved in a ghastly car accident." Xander said clearing the confusion as he drove all the way to the hospital.
Sophia just woke up and didn't find Romeo around, she was in her way to find him when her phone rang, she scanned the unfamiliar number before answering what she heard next almost let her soul out of her body, without wasting a second she left the house and got into a car driving out towards the hospital which she didn't know how cause was crazily breaking road traffic.
Pierce and Alexander arrived few minutes ago and was informed Romeo was in the OR, they sat restlessly and anticipating the result when Sophia rushed in looking disheveled.
"Where is my son? Where is Romeo? Tell me is he okay? Is my son alright? Why was he involved in an accident?" She shouted holding unto Xander clothes.
"Calm down auntie, he is in the operation room now so we don't know the result yet." Alexander explain trying to calm her down which only made her break into tears. It took a long while before Alexander and Pierce were able to calm her down.
It was past three hours already and there was still no sign of the doctor or any news about Romeo, all the nurses who came out only left in silence causing more tension than there already was. After what seemed like ages the light went off signifying the operation was over, the doctor stepped out with a not so good face while Sophia ran to him grabbing his shirt.
"Tell me how is my son? Is he fine? Tell me is he alright?" Sophia asked the who only glanced at her and then Pierce.
"We are his friends and she is his mom." Pierce explain to the doctor who nodded.
"The operation was successful but the patient is in a critical condition as his brain is severely wounded, it's a miracle he is alive after that accident I can't say the life of the patient is fully stable we only managed to control the bleeding so all you have to do is pray for his quick response." The doctor said before walking away. The news left Sophia feeling lost, emotions swirled insanely in her head was she about to loose her son too, her husband was in his last stage of cancer and was counting his days too now...
All she remembered was blacken out and falling on the cold hard floor with voices calling out to her.
