(....very long chapter lol....) CHAPTER NINE (09) MAI'S POV Cleaning a messy room with broken glass, spilled makeup, clothes laying and dust everywhere was harder with the uniform. Every time I bent down to pick something, the dress moved up, exposing my panties. The dress only reached my thighs when I was standing, an obstacle I wouldn't overcome. Right now, I'd magical cleaned you spilled makeup and dust, I didn't remember when I'd used make up before. The coloured powder, eye colouring, everything but it was worth it at the end. After what felt like hours, I finally finished cleaning the room, my exhaustion and frustration dissipating with each passing moment. I stood back to survey my handiwork, a sense of accomplishment washing over me. The room was spotless. Now, I just wanted to escape and relax. I quickly changed out of the short maid uniform, feeling relief shed the constricting garment. I slipped into something more comfortable, my favorite worn jeans and a soft t-shirt. With my escape plan in mind, I snuck out of the room, trying to be quiet. I crept down the hallway, avoiding main areas where Roman's staff tended to congregate. It was easy to slip past everyone undetected. I moved quietly, my footsteps light on the floor. I made my way through the mansion, wondering how I remained unseen. No one gave me a second glance. I slipped past guards, maids, and other staff members. Before I knew it, I was outside, cool night air enveloping me. I took a deep breath, feeling freedom wash over me. I'd escaped. Now, it was time to find peace and quiet. I set off into the night, darkness swallowing me whole. I trudged down the driveway, the night air a welcome respite from the stifling atmosphere of Roman's mansion. The stars above twinkled like diamonds, and the sound of crickets provided a soothing background hum. I'd spent the entire day cooped up inside, scrubbing floors and dusting shelves. Now, all I wanted was to get out and clear my head. As I walked, I reached into my pocket to grab my phone, only to realize it was empty. "No worries," I muttered to myself. "I can trek to the nearest spot and call Zoey for a ride." But when I pulled out my phone, my heart sank. The screen was black, and it wouldn't turn on. I'd forgotten to charge it, and now it was dead. "Great, just great," I muttered, frustration simmering just below the surface. Now what? I was miles from civilization, with no phone and no way to call for help. I sighed and started walking, hoping to find a solution at the end of the road. I continued down the road, but the darkness seemed to close in. I turned down alley after alley, my sense of direction muddled. Sweat dripped down my face, and exhaustion weighed heavy on my shoulders. Maybe it was a bad idea to leave. Regret crept in. I was alone, lost, and defenseless. I spotted a man leaning against a wall, smoking a cigarette. The ember glowed in the dark. I made my way towards him, hope rising. "Hello, sir," I said, trying to sound polite. "Do you know the way to...?" I trailed off, unsure where I was headed. The man looked me up and down, his expression unreadable. Then he nodded and pointed down the alley. "You want to get out of here? Head down that way. Take a left at the main road. You'll see a taxi stand. Can't miss it." His voice was low and gravelly, but his directions were clear. I thanked him, feeling relief wash over me. "Thank you, sir. I really appreciate it." The man nodded, took another drag on his cigarette, and watched me set off in the direction he'd pointed. I walked quickly, my footsteps echoing off the walls, grateful to have a plan. I walked, but the streets seemed to blur together. I tried to retrace my steps, but everything looked unfamiliar. Panic set in. I continued walking, desperate to find a way out. Suddenly, I saw a group of men standing on the corner. I turned to leave, but something hit me hard on the head. I spun around, disoriented, and saw the man from earlier holding a thick stick. His expression was menacing. Before I could react, everything went dark. I felt myself being lifted, and my senses grew fuzzy. I was vaguely aware of being carried towards a van. The man's gruff voice muttered something, and I felt myself being tossed inside. The doors slammed shut, and I was plunged into darkness. Everything went black. ________________________ When I woke up, I was tied up to a chair, my body screaming in discomfort. I tried to speak, but my mouth was gagged and taped shut. I looked around, taking in my surroundings. The room was dimly lit, with cold, grey walls and a single flickering light bulb. Then, I saw him. The man from earlier. He was standing in front of me, his eyes cold and menacing. He looked scary, but I didn't back down. I mumbled through the tape, trying to ask why I was there. But my words were muffled and unintelligible. The man raised an eyebrow, a hint of amusement on his face. "Want to say something?" he asked, his voice low and gravelly. I nodded eagerly, hoping to communicate. He reached out and ripped the tape off my mouth. I screamed, the pain sharp and sudden. "Why did you take me?" I demanded, my voice shaking with fear and anger. The man sneered, "Money." I shook my head, "I don't have money." He chuckled, "Not from you, sweetheart. From Mr. Roman." My eyes widened, "So, you're using me as bait?" The man's smile grew, "Anything you'd call it." His tone sent shivers down my spine, and I realized I was in grave danger. Roman's enemies had found a clever way to get to him, and I was the pawn. I had to think fast and come up with a plan to escape before it was too late. I asked, "So, have you called him?" The man glanced at his phone, "It's still ringing." I pleaded, "Please call someone else." He smirked, "Why? It's a perfect plan." I thought to myself, "Yeah, perfect for a five-year-old." The man said, "Oh, it's time." He put on a mask and pulled out his phone. He walked to a corner of the room and answered a video call. Roman's face appeared on the screen. The man demanded, "Pay me in cash, a million dollars." Roman chuckled, and my heart sank. "I'm right here," he said. The man's eyes widened in fear as he turned around. But no one was there. Then, he turned back and that's when he saw Roman standing right behind him. Roman's presence was terrifying. The man's eyes rolled back, and he passed out on the floor. Roman's voice echoed, "You should've thought twice." I was shocked, unsure what to expect next. Roman freed me from the chair, and we left the dimly lit room together. As we walked, I thought to myself, "I guess he was too poor to hire men." Roman seemed unfazed by my silent jab. When we arrived at the mansion, Roman lay down on the living room couch, looking relaxed. I walked up to him, wanting to express my gratitude. "Thanks," I said. Roman's expression turned stern. "I don't accept those words," he said. I raised an eyebrow. "What do you want from me, then?" Roman's gaze locked onto mine. "Strip," he said, his voice low and husky. I blinked, surprised. "Strip?" I repeated. `βœ“βœ“βœ“βœ“βœ“βœ“βœ“βœ“βœ“βœ“βœ“βœ“βœ“βœ“βœ“βœ“βœ“βœ“βœ“βœ“βœ“βœ“βœ“βœ“` Short chapter
