With Vera now unconscious the drag began to slowly slink down the walls. The shuffling and low rumbling echoed around the caves as he made his way down. His claws dragging a scraping as he moved. Jade green eyes now focused solely on the human puddle in the middle of his cave. Perfect hearing allowing him to make out the shallow breaths she fought for.
His claws clinked as he touched the floor. Sauntering over to human lying in a pool of her own blood. His long tongue flicking out like a snake as he tasted the air around her. The human was dying. And quite quickly at that.
He squinted his eyes in annoyance, he supposed it would be morally right for him to intervene. However it had broken into his home and had hardly had the decency to greet him before passing out. They just didn’t make humans like they used to.
He stretched out his claws as he reached toward the human. Picking it up, he walked on three legs towards the smaller opening in the cave towards the back. Making himself smaller he crouched down and into the brand new space.Well-lit with all the fixings and furniture that he loved.
