Lucas stood outside the door for what felt like an eternity. He had already taken a severe beating from Caleb, and his injuries had only received basic, makeshift first aid. After standing out in the freezing rain for hours on end, vertigo finally washed over him, and his knees buckled as he fainted right onto the pavement.
