Friday, July 14th, 2023,
The next day…
I run out of my room, phone in my hand and head downstairs to the kitchen. I open the cupboard and grab a box of cereal with the intention of eating it, then I realized the milk was likely gone bad. I put the cereal back in the cupboard and sit down on the stool at the counter.
Daniel walks into the room and sits down beside me, saying, “Couldn’t wait for me?”
I turn to look at him and say, “I knew you could find your way so I didn’t feel the need to. I’m hungry and wanted to eat something but I really need to get some groceries.” I sigh, resting my head in my hands as a lean my elbows on the counter.
