Three servants had brought out tray after tray of food that was sufficient to feed a small party. But there were only two people present for the meal. “I wasn’t sure what you liked, so I had different dishes made. Don’t worry about putting yourself out, I only hope I have something you will like.” Emily stared at the varieties. “You know about my father, but you don’t know about me?” she asked coyly as she glanced from the table the servants had physically set up to lay out the dishes. “Last time we spoke and I asked about something personal, you got mad,” he replied thickly, “I didn’t want to make you mad again,” he finished quietly.
