Chapter 7 Shapeshifter Seas "Rose petal rose petal bring me a fey Bring me a dream, bring it today That I may dance, sing and play." Book 1, set1     Kontessa stood on the pier, watching the surf crash against the pillars that held it up. Loss sat heavily on her mind as she remembered the women that she had shared her life with in the past. Of all, some for a lifetime, some for a moment, like a blink of an eye, she remembered one in particular about one hundred and twenty years before.  Melinda, her name was, and she always wore black. A smile lit her soul due to her body feeling the sorrow in her. But the young girl turned the woman over the short lifespan of a human, then it ended. Gods, she hated that color black, but since she relished it the occasional times, she would see on a woman in mourning. Some bright auburn-haired woman spoke of the poetry she would write her instead of the old love. Her thoughts turned to other young women and men but none as unique or time as long as the auburn-haired woman in black. Then she saw the auburn hair. She saw it in the water, blonde hair now. But she could have sworn. The head poked up. Blonde, she swore… she strained her demon eyes that saw further, then humans and in red unlike the same. “This is just what I need,’ she thought forlornly. ‘she did look well-formed, though." With a lustful demon spirit now, the memories of the women chased from her mind by the glimpse of whatever she saw. These thoughts went through her mind as she walked steadily through the streets to end up at the sorceress's place. She needed something to breathe under the water, something she to swim with. 'She used the knocker, and a boom resounded through the tower she knew. A boy came and showed her to the stairs. In the corner sat Calasel by the fire, the place she always occupied. The sorceress mentioned once her sylvan forest warmer. She told the demon once where she came after the sorceress made a potion for a friend. She barely agreed, it being a love potion, but the guy seemed desperate.  He could only come to the tower later because he could not get the girl to stop with her amorous desires. "Dark one, you have come again. ” Calasel rose from her seat and came forward. “What may I do for you this time? Summon another fey?” “No,” she became somber. “I saw something in the water tonight.” “A fish?” Kontessa let out a sigh. “No, not a fish, a woman. I think. Maybe a mermaid. “They have not been seen here in the port for some years.” said the sorceress rummaging through a drawer. “Went the way of the Coe fish.” “Well, I saw something." "Your demon eyes, dark one. Your demon eyes, your demon black eyes, see everything. Here we go. I have even told you what I wanted.” “I know all and see all,” said Calasel sarcastically and dryly. “I’m joking. You said you saw a mermaid and knowing you have to see her again.” Kontessa sighed and took the turquoise and silver ring. She noticed that the ring had inscriptions written in signals and wards. She could see them in the dim light of the firelight. "What do these sigals mean," Kontessa asked. "for they are way beyond my knowledge.” "Kontessa Eldeman, your curiosity shines through too brightly. You are not afraid of knowing too much. This knowledge could burn." Kontessa snorted in slight derision. “Calasel of the northern realms, land of the elves. I have summoned an army of demons from the depths of hell. I did this in the sand and caused it to burn with daemon fire from hades, where souls feel sorrow for eternity. Calasel of the Northern realms, land of the elves, shook her head in disbelieve “I think I can handle it.” Calasel’s dark one answered sarcastically. “Then I will tell you.   The first sigils - This sigil has it is meaning in the deep water of every sea. The deep dark creatures that know no light. Darkness rules their lives. Here, also you can swim.   The room took on a light blue darkness her dark one noticed in her mind. A rumbling barely audible came through in goosebumps. The second sigil - This sigil has its meaning and origin in planes of the water where only the Kraken lives in black depths. Here also you can swim. The room began to glow dark blue. The blue you would see in dark depths where no sun exists, on a plane where only the Kraken may dwell. The third sigil - this sigil has its meaning and origin in the depths of the death water infested with the plague that brings blood boils. Here too, you can swim with immunity. The room glowed blue of hell and burnt skeletons. The blue of Azeroth, lord of Hades. Rumbling could be heard in the distance; her dark one felt the goosebumps moved. The fourth sigil - This sigil has its meaning and origin in the sun-baked waters of all seas where light drives men's minds to deprecates worm-infested insanity where the creatures eat through the brain bit by bit. Here too you can swim. Her dark one felt cool breezes. The fifth sigil - This sigil has its meaning and origin in the oceans that existed in time at the foundations of existence, in the secret memories of Amandine Abdielle Abraxyrs, Emperor of all water. Here too you can swim. Blue flames shot up from behind the sorceress Calasel of the northern realms, land of the elves. She felt thunder and knew that only she could feel it in her soul where memory was erased for the instant of the emperor’s name spoken. The flames died. The quivering left Kontessa. The first ward - This ward is lighter. It has its origins and meaning in the soft blue waters of the rivers where the nymphs play, and good dragons with their wisdom dwell. Here too you can swim. Her dark one felt the room grow warm, and the cold flames died. The second ward - This ward has its meaning and origin in the clear blue lakes where sylvan forests line the shores and fairies’ bath Here too you can swim. Hot waves washed over her washed over as her dark one’s turquoise flame ignited in her soul. Sending soothing waves like a quiet morning. Kontessa Eldeman stood, her soul numb. Exhausted and spent. She peered at the ancient elf. “I have told you all that can be done with the ring.” Kontessa fell on the floor, and darkness overcame her.
