For the first time in a long time, Tasren’s dreams were filled with screaming, blood, and death. He had taken the first watch and awoke now with a yell at the first light hitting his face through the trees. Topknot sat staring at him while the ranger remembered the war was over. He wiped the cold sweat from his face and took a deep breath. They ate a quick breakfast and began the climb around the mountain to the north face. About midmorning, they reached it and began looking for an entrance. This the trio found about halfway up around noon.
