My legs drag heavily against the cold, hard ground as my limp body is carried through a much cooler space. The chilly air lashes against my exposed skin, but I can’t open my eyes. The feeling of being at the mercy of someone else grates against my mind, and I want to scream but I don’t even have the strength to open my mouth. Emotions flood me as what sounds like two people drag my lifeless body further and further. My bare toes catch on every pit and rock, and pain sears through my feet each time one breaks the skin. ‘Lucia, are you there?’ my voice sounds foreign, even in my own head. ‘Please, say something.’ ‘Our pup….
