The silence in this tiny room is deafening once Marcus leaves. Slade remains standing, staring mindlessly at the ground while I just sit and contemplate the life decisions that brought me here. I thought I had it all once upon a time. I had the life I thought I always dreamt of. The mate, the home, the career path.
