I sit in front of my computer screens fidgeting with a rip in the hem of my jeans, staring at my phone, wondering if I dare do what I'm about to do.
No doubt if I make this call, I'll set myself up for a slew of s**t I'm not sure I'm ready to take on. Yet, I don't see any other way.
Lifting my phone to my ear, I wait while it rings once, twice, three times. I'm about to hang up, losing my nerve when a soft voice answers.
"Rex? What's wrong?"
