Madison's POV
"No... No... Please, I didn't see anything..."
The red-eyed man lifted me above the ground, his sharp claws aiming for my chest.
"No!" I screamed my way out of that crazy nightmare, my chest rising and falling so fast that I almost thought my heart was about to fall out of my chest.
My head was heavy as f**k, and it was banging seriously.
I threw my blanket off, eager to wash off that nightmare from my memory.
It was when my legs reached the floor that I realized something was off.
No... Not just something, everything was off.
My eyes scanned the room, the bright walls staring back at me.
"Where the f**k am I?" I blurted out, still looking from corner to corner as I took in the whole place.
The distance from one corner to another was way too much; the room felt like an entire apartment on its own.
The bed was way too soft under my hands, perfectly dressed with white sheets. Big enough to be classified as a king-sized bed.
The room was so sparkling that I thought I'd stain it if I moved from here.
My eyes finally went down to my dress.
I was no longer wearing that blue dress Daniel had me buy cause he said it looked good on me. Rather, I was dressed in a big white shirt with three undone buttons.
Have I been violated?
My eyes widened in horror.
I took a step down, head spinning as I walked towards the door, eager to get answers to my questions.
The door fell open even before I reached it; a lady dressed in black and white stepped in with a gold tray in hand.
"Who are you?"
"Why am I here?"
"I don't remember coming here?"
Thoughts from last night filled my mind.
Daniel and Sienna's mocking laugh echoed in my head like it was happening all over.
The sound of the door clicking shut behind me as I stepped out of the place I once called home.
Drinking in the alley.
The red-eyed man.
"Was all that a dream?" I said out loud.
"Please tell me... I think I drank too much last night and I can barely remember what happened. Who brought me..."
"You should stay calm, ma. I'll go get Prince Caden; he was the one who brought you into the palace." She said, dropping the tray on the medium-sized table somewhere at the corner of the room.
Prince Caden?
Palace?
"Is this some fairy tale? Or do I possibly look like a joke to you?"
"I'm not lying, ma'am... the Lycan Prince brought you here. You were unconscious in his arms when he brought you here and asked us to take care of you. I can call him if you don't believe me."
"Please do!" I snapped.
She hurried out of the room.
I couldn't help but laugh at the horrible lie this lady was trying to feed me.
I heard whispers coming from outside my door.
I couldn't help my curiosity, so I peered through the peephole.
Two ladies dressed like the one that had just left here stood right outside my door
"I've worked here for twelve years."
"I've never seen His Highness bring anyone home."
Those words left something heavy in my chest.
Were they telling the truth?
No... That doesn't make sense. Why would the Lycan Prince...
My head hurts just trying to process everything.
"Shuuuu..." The Prince is coming, the maids said, scurrying off like rodents.
The sound of footsteps echoed at the far end of the hallways... Followed by that thick aura that made my knees feel instantly weak.
I hurried back towards the bed, my heart pounding heavily in my chest, not knowing what to expect.
I placed my hands on my legs just to stop them from trembling.
The door fell wide open; the maid from earlier rushed in, bowing.
"Your Highness!" She called.
A towering figure stepped in next.
I stood up immediately when I saw him.
He is THE Lycan Prince?
"You?" I murmured.
The pace of my heartbeat increased by more than two times.
My first instinct was to move back as he began to come closer to me, but I was already standing at the edge of the bed.
"You are the Lycan Prince?" I completed, my voice trembling as I watched the man from last night approach me.
His eyes were no more blazing red, which nearly made me not recognize him.
He looked a little offended by my words, his eyes roaming over me as he stepped even closer.
"You're that stupid?" Those were the first words that fell out of his mouth as he stood just inches away.
"Excuse me?" I blurted out, despite the fear.
"Who doesn't know the Lycan Prince?"
I almost rolled my eyes. "Well... not everyone is interested in Kingdom politics."
He nodded.
"Fair enough, mostly Omegas like yourself. I'll let that one slide."
I tightened my fist.
"If you want to kill me, then get it over with..." I said through gritted teeth. "But one thing I won't tolerate is you calling me demeaning names," I said, my voice rising as I pointed at him.
"Isn't that what you are?" He snapped back, his tone cold.
"And let me guess... That's the reason your mate rejected you?" He said, a smirk forming on his face.
I opened my mouth to speak. To defend myself.
Instead, tears dropped from my eyes.
I quickly wiped them off, not wanting to confirm his allegations of being a weakling.
"Why did you bring me here? To mock me?"
The smirk on his face seemed to have disappeared.
I waited for a genuine answer.
"Because..." He paused.
"Because you witnessed something you shouldn't have."
"I know I saw what I shouldn't have, but trust me... I'm never going to tell anyone. Just let me go, and you wouldn't have to deal with an omega you detest so much."
I hated to refer to myself as that, but right now, I could do anything just to get out from under his suffocating aura.
"Can I have my dress now?" I said to the maid behind him, wiping another stray tear.
The maid looked at him... He didn't give her any sign. Then she looked back at me with that 'I'm sorry type of expression.'
"Alright then! I have no problem walking out the door like this." I said, already hurrying past him.
Before I could even make it past him, he grabbed my hand, pulling me back with a force that made me slam into him, his hands resting on my waist.
Our eyes met for a long moment; neither of us moved.
I swallowed hard, my heart pounding really fast in my chest.
"You go nowhere, dear Madison." He muttered, his eyes carrying a sense of finality.
My eyes widened.
“You… You know my name?”
