Still couldn’t believe Jacob would sign the agreement.
He’d fought against it the very first time I talked about it, and soon after.
Days after that too, and just when I’d put it at the back of my mind, he just walked in with it.
I’d been shocked and didn’t know what to say or how to react.
It did make me happy, real happy, but he sure had taken his damn time and now, it felt different.
