Jacob I gazed into the whiskey in my glass, mindlessly swirling it around. The brown liquid caught the dim bar lights, casting fractured reflections like broken promises. The chilly metal of the glass did absolutely nothing to ease the pain gnawing at me, a relentless beast chewing through my resolve.
