The silver feather hovered in the air.
It drifted toward the edge of Silverwood Forest before circling once, as if waiting.
Evelyn and Lucas stood frozen on the balcony.
“It’s… pointing somewhere,” Evelyn whispered.
Lucas nodded slowly.
“It looks that way.”
The feather floated a few feet farther before stopping again.
Almost impatiently.
Evelyn took one step toward it.
Lucas gently caught her wrist.
“Don’t.”
She looked at him.
“What if it’s Selene?”
“What if it isn’t?”
The question lingered between them.
Finally, the feather’s glow faded. It floated gently back into Evelyn’s hand.
