Slam The Director's fist hit down on the table hard enough to rattle the glasses of water nearby. “A Witch? The future Alpha cannot take a Witch as his mate. It’s a disgrace to the reputation of the Pack. The bloodline must be kept pu-” The somewhat sallow looking man jumped and bowed his head as a growl ripped through the air. It was instinctual, the urge to comply with an alpha’s growl, and it was obvious he detested that fact by the way his eyes glinted with fury behind his rectangular glasses. Sebastian Kingsley was the Director of Lawson Biotech. He’d never been athletically inclined like most wolves were, his strength lay in his head. It was easier for him to outsmart someone than to physically overpower them. Yet.. the Alpha’s son, Jacob, as he got older he got closer in match for his intelligence. A deep bass voice sounded to the right of him, it came from a younger man. He had a golden tan that only came from days under the sun, and a curly mop of black hair. His eyes were narrowed at Sebastian, a murky green that glinted with golden speckles. “Pure? Don’t make me laugh. She is my mate, the one chosen for me by the Moon Goddess herself. Do you think you are important enough to defy the Moon Goddess, Director Kingsley?” Jacob Lawson’s voice hinted at a challenge. No wolf in his right mind would openly admit to defying the Moon Goddess. No wolf without good reason would even suggest such an act. However, Sebastian was a wolf without role. A wolf without a son, only three daughters. The quickest way for him to gain rank would be for one of his daughters to mate with the Alpha’s son. If his daughter could become Luna he would have a hold on the pack. For now though, he’d have to find a way to get rid of this new… obstacle. “No, Vice-President Lawson. I would never dare. My concerns are only for the future of the Pack. The witches are notorious for wreaking havoc, for messing with other beings. We have no idea what she could be planning.” The pen in Jacobs hand snapped in two, but no growl sounded at this second barrage of insults. The pen remnants were set down on the table. “Leave, everyone leave.” The Alpha’s son’s voice was strained. “Mr Lawson-” “GET OUT!” He roared. Kingsley, and the other Director's stood and began to file out of the meeting room. Not all of them were of the Ice Moon Pack, some came from other packs that were affiliated with them, and now the Alpha’s son had just proven himself to be emotional, perhaps even unreasonable, in front of all of them. Even if his plan hadn’t succeeded in dissuading the Alpha from taking that Witch as his mate it might have made people lose their face in him. It would be enough, for now.
