The ride back to the mansion is silent, as usual. Antonio whisk out his laptop and works on that and I stare out the window. From time to time he gently brushes his hand on my knee. The first time I pulled away but then he took hold of me instead, so I don’t pull away again.
When we arrive home he extends his hand to help me out of the car and then keeps it as he leads me into the house. I am silent and stiff as I follow him up the stairs. He leads me to his bedroom and I stop in my tracks. He turns towards me with a soft and reassuring smile on his lips. A smile I can’t trust no matter how soft he makes it.
