I was lying on the bed in my dorm room when I received a text from Livette. Come outside. We’re in the parking lot. x I sat up so fast that I felt dizzy for a moment. I stared at the screen of my new phone in absolute disbelief. She’d asked for my number before we parted ways, but I didn’t think she would text me this soon to hang out. I dressed into something more presentable: A bright red pleated skirt, a black tank top, and my high-heeled boots. Granted, it was a little too much just to hang out, but I didn’t want to wear anything I’d wear to school. It wasn’t hard to spot them as soon as I reached outside.
