Thanking the housekeeper for an ample breakfast, Jacob left the kitchen with the idea of waiting in the drawing-room with his book until Sebastian had finished his conference. However, once in the main entrance hall, he saw Sebastian ushering a beaming Mr. Leacock out of the front door, with his concerns successfully resolved.
Sebastian turned to Jacob and said, “That should be the last of the interruptions. The animals are seen to for the morning, and the business of the day is done. I thought since you walked yesterday and will be in the carriage for much of tomorrow that we could go riding today?”
“As long as you have a placid enough horse that won’t buck me off,” Jacob said.
“I’m sure we’ll be able to find you something,” said Sebastian with a smile.
