Let's dive in ❤️
Anika Sharma dashed through the grand ballroom of The Imperial Hotel, clutching a bouquet of white roses in one hand and her phone in the other. She was late. Again. Her best friend, Meera, had warned her about taking on too many orders at her tiny flower shop, but she never learned.
“Excuse me! Coming through!” she muttered, weaving between servers and guests in dazzling gowns and tailored suits.
She had just spotted the event organizer when it happened.
Her foot caught on something—probably thin air—and before she knew it, she was flying forward. The tray of drinks from a passing waiter teetered. A sharp gasp rippled through the crowd.
And then—
Splash.
A full cup of hot espresso soaked into the crisp white shirt of the man standing before her. A hush fell over the hall.
Anika squeezed her eyes shut. Oh no.
When she forced herself to look up, her breath hitched.
Rudra Malhotra.
CEO of Malhotra Industries. Billionaire. Ruthless businessman. And, unfortunately, the man whose perfectly ironed suit she had just ruined.
He stood tall, the dark fabric of his suit ruined, coffee dripping down his chest. His sharp jawline was tight with irritation, his brown eyes unreadable as they bore into her.
The silence stretched. People around them were staring. Whispers buzzed.
Anika swallowed. “I… I am so sorry. I didn’t mean to—”
"You didn't mean to?" Rudra’s voice was dangerously calm, but there was steel underneath it. "Do you think that fixes the problem?"
Anika shifted uncomfortably. “I—uh, I can pay for the dry cleaning?"
His lips curved into a slow, predatory smirk. "Dry cleaning? Do you have any idea how much this suit costs?"
She sighed, pushing back the nervousness bubbling in her chest. "Look, I get that you’re mad, but accidents happen. If you’re so rich, why does one ruined suit matter?"
Gasps erupted around them. No one—no one—spoke to Rudra Malhotra that way.
For a moment, something flickered in his gaze. Amusement? Interest? But it was gone just as fast, replaced by something darker.
"You’re feisty," he murmured, stepping closer.
Anika instinctively took a step back. "Uh, well—"
"You owe me, Miss Sharma."
She blinked. "Owe you?"
He leaned in slightly, voice dropping to a smooth, dangerous whisper. "I don't let debts go unpaid."
Her stomach twisted. "It was just a cup of coffee!"
He ignored her protest, his smirk deepening. "From now on, you work for me until your debt is settled."
Her jaw dropped. "What?!"
"Welcome to hell, flower girl," he said, before walking off, leaving her stunned in the middle of the ballroom.
And just like that, Anika Sharma’s simple life was thrown into chaos.
