“What just happened?” Tatiana asked in her direct manner.
Alyssa considered evading the question but realized she wanted to speak to her grandmother.
“I am in love with Melbourne, and he is not in love with me. It was a bit of a shock, and I need time to absorb it,” Alyssa admitted, and her grandmother’s expression softened.
Tatiana called out, and Anna came scurrying in as if she was just outside the door the entire time. They helped Alyssa to the nearest chair, and Anna stripped down the bed.
