It was almost midnight when I arrived, and the club was in full swing. I walked to the bar in order a beer before I started scanning the club. I need it to know all my exits, cameras and VIP rooms. As I get closer to the dancing floor a delicious scent of pine filled my nose. I follow the scent and there in the middle of the dance floor was Kellan Black grinding against another woman but what shocked me was the urge I felt to feed when I saw him. I wasn't hungry but I wanted to taste his warm blood. I notice his head snap up and look towards me. His beautiful brown eyes locked with blue ones. His eyes widen but I acted like I didn't noticed it. I downed my drink and blended in with the crowd on the dance floor. People started cheering when the music change to reggaeton and started dancing. I could feel his eyes on me as I move to the music. The scent of pine started getting stronger and I knew he was getting closer to me. As I could feel him getting closer, I decided to leave the dance floor. Before I got to the door, I look back at him to see him watching me. I looked at him for a few seconds as he started moving. As he got closer, I went out the door.
Someone grabbed my arm and sparks of electricity ran through my body. When the person spins me around, I see those beautiful brown eyes.
"Where are you going mate?" I froze at the word 'mate'.
"s**t" I cursed. This was not good. This changed everything. I needed to tell him, but I wonder if he would listen to me. Hurt flash in his eyes when I cursed.
"Am I not what you wanted?" he asked. I could hear the hurt in his voice. How can he not be everything I ever wanted. I just never thought someone like me could have a mate. Hell, he was what I wanted and more.
"I honestly never thought I would have a mate. After all I've been alone for an exceptionally long time" I replied truthfully.
"How long?"
"Too long" I needed to get us out of there. I know Dimitri well and I knew that he was always going to have someone watching me.
"What's your name?" Kellan asked me.
" Lorie " I replied.
"Do you want to get out of here?" I asked.
"Sure. Where do you want to go?"
"My place" I replied. We walk to the edge of the forest before he grabbed my hand sending sparks of electricity up my arm.
"Where are you going?" he asked.
"My place. You can shift at the end of the forest" I told him.
"Let's go in my car instead" he said. I thought about it before nodding reluctantly.
"The Jeep is mine" he pointed to black Jeep as we neared it. He took out his keys when all of the sudden it looked like everything was going in slow motion. As he pointed key to press a button, I saw a flashing red light under the Jeep. I use my vampire speed to jump in front of Kellan just as he push the button to start the car and the car exploded. Kellan loses his balance and falls surprised by the sudden movement and explosion. Kellan doesn't let go of me. I put my hands on his chest looking around at my surroundings. I know my eyes are glowing red and my fangs are out, but can you blame me for someone just tried to kill my mate.
" Lorie " I heard Kellan call. I snapped my eyes down towards him to see him looking at me. I scan his face before forcing myself off of him instantly missing his warmth.
"Are you hurt?" I asked.
"No. Are you?" he asked.
"No. we need to get you out of here. Come on" he got up and follow me to the forest, but when we got closer to the forest I stopped. The scent of blood filled my nose and I quickly spun around to look at Kellan. My eyes landed on his left side of his torso.
"You said you weren't hurt" I said through gritted teeth. Kellan follows my gaze and shrugs. Men and their egos, I swear.
"I didn't feel anything until you said something" he said, as if it was nothing.
"That's a lot of blood, Kellan. Do you think you can manage to shift until we get to my place?" I asked. He nodded but something told me he wasn't going to be able to shift. As soon as he took off his shirt, more blood came out.
"Stop!" I could feel my eyes flashing. I grabbed his shirt and pressed it tight against his wound, then I took off my crop top hoodie and tightened it around his perfectly Adonis body. I saw him stumble a little, so I grabbed him and threw him over my shoulder and used my vampire speed and strength to get him home. Everything by me went by in a blur, but I didn't care. The only thing I care about is to make sure that he stays alive and safe.
Back in my house, I placed Kellan on my bed, then went to my bathroom and got the first aid kit, a needle and threat. Quickly, I started working on him. I noticed a piece of metal lodged in his side.
“Silver” I growled. I took it out, making his eyes snap open before they rolled to the back of his head. I cleaned the wound and began to sow his wound close. I then pulled him to my chest and wrapped his wound. I gently laid him down before I went to the kitchen and grabbed some water. When I got back, I could see how pale he was. I sat next to him and brushed the hair away from his face.
"I don't know how things were in your pack, but I promise I will make you safe again no matter what" I whispered before moving to the chair next to the bed. I must have fallen asleep because I woke up to Kellan groaning. I placed my hand on his forehead and he had a fever. This was not good at all. Werewolves are not supposed to be sick. Why isn't healing? I needed to get him back to his pack and it had to be now. I pick him up again and I start making my way to the Black Moon Pack. I arrived in less than eight minutes using my vampire speed. I was close to the border. I laid Kellan down as he groaned again.
"Kellan, look at me mate. Open your eyes baby", I lightly slapped his cheek. His eyes fluttered open.
"Mate. So beautiful" he whispered. My heart fluttered at his words, but this was no time for this.
"Kellan, we're here in your pack. They're going to take care of you and make you better. Please, get better" I said, and watched as his eyes fluttered closed again. I pulled him up, threw one of his arms over my shoulders and began walking with him to the border. Just as I stepped over the border I was surrounded by wolves. They were all snarling and growling. One of them shifted and I averted my eyes so I wouldn't see his naked body.
"Alpha?" he said, before I felt something hit me hard in the back of my head and everything went black.
