Ava and Jake's friendship continued to blossom, and she found herself looking forward to their daily encounters. One day, as they were walking between classes, Jake turned to her with a mischievous grin. "Hey, Ava, want to grab coffee with me after school?" he asked, his eyes sparkling with excitement. Ava's heart skipped a beat. Was this a date? She tried to play it cool. "Sure, I'd love to," she replied, attempting to sound nonchalant. As they parted ways for their next classes, Ava couldn't help but feel a flutter in her chest. She wondered if this was the start of something more. She imagined the possibilities, her mind racing with excitement. After school, Ava met Jake at the coffee shop. They chatted about everything from school gossip to their favorite books. Ava felt at ease, laughing and joking with Jake. As they sipped their lattes, Ava realized she was having the time of her life. As the sun began to set, Jake walked Ava home, the air filled with a comfortable silence. Ava felt a sense of connection she hadn't experienced before. As soon as she opened the door, her mum stood furiously at the entrance. Her heart skipped while she tried to explain to her mum in a trembling voice. "Where have you been? Her mum yelled I went to Mia's house after school, and we studied together for our maths quiz tomorrow," She said. Alright then "Dinner is ready, "her mum said.
