Our romantic interlude was over, and we were allowed back in the apartment. The top half of the building had been cleared but the club itself was off limits until repairs could be made. That could take months. Daniel was busy all day working with different people to get the club back in order. He met with contractors for bids on repairs and more insurance people. The property damage and the death of that woman were under two separate policies. I didn't understand it all, but I acted as his secretary, answering calls and greeting people. I kind of like it. He also logged me onto Gayle's computer and showed me how to do some of the reports he needed for projections for the future. The club might have to get a loan to rebuild if insurance doesn't cover everything.
