I charged through the forest painting that hung on the wall, stomping down the hallway to the lounge room to find it a mess, plants that were hanging are now strewn across the floor, my favourite sofa slashed, and Mickey exchanging blows with a few of Jaxon’s warriors behind it, I leap over the sofa effortlessly, extended my sword as if I’ve always had it, I slice across the backs of the men taking on Mickey, giving him time to regroup. As the men fall to the ground, I zero in on Jaxon standing to the side. If terror had a face, it would be his face in this moment. Slowly I skulk towards him, dragging my sword menacingly behind me, I speak directly to him.
“Accept the rejection now Jaxon or you shall die at my hand.”
“Who are you? Who are you to tell me what to do?” he squeaks.
Holding my sword now to his chest, I am eye level with him, I can see the fear. Pushing him to his knees.
“I am the mate you abused, the mate you allowed everyone to abuse, the mate you wanted to kill after you rejected her, now accept it and be on your way, or I will plunge this sword through your cold heart.” I growled.
Jaxon looked at his men bleeding out on the floor, then back to me, his face a mix of terror and utter disgust.
“I Jaxon Black accept your rejection, Lester The dirty slave. I would never take a mate as filthy as you.” He spat at me.
“Nice try, insulting me does not work, it never has. To accept it you will use my real name. Celeste Whitlock.” I pushed the tip of my sword harder into his chest, blood started to soak through his shirt.
“I, Jaxon accept your rejection, celeste Whitlock.” Jaxon crumpled to the floor from his kneeling position.
“Pathetic excuse of a man and an Alpha, get the f**k out of here, before my mercy runs out, oh and tell Sampson, we will see him soon.” I laughed at him
Watching this 6-foot, buff, ‘Alpha’ struggle to his feet, with his usually perfectly slick jet black hair messy and tears welling in his silver eyes was pure delight. All the years of abuse have been built up to this moment, I will never regret rejecting him, and I never felt anything for but repugnance for him and his father. Jaxon didn’t spare a glance at his fallen comrades and bolted for the stairs, despite hearing the gasping of air from one of the fallen.
“Well I’ll be damned, a Whitlock Lythari and a baby one at that. Sage, come out gorgeous, it’s over.” Mickey looked impressed.
“Is that what I am, what is it? What am I?” He knows what I am, who I am; I have come to the right place indeed.
“Can you change back, we can talk, then I think it’s time to take you home.” He replied.
Sage entered the room and gasped at the sight, immediately she ran to the gasping man bleeding out over her lounge room, she knelt at his side and placed a hand over his heart, she muttered a few words before he fell silent, he was gone. She had gently helped him to move on. Then she turned to Mickey and checked him over, while he shrugged and told her he was fine, he kept his eyes on me.
“We have a special assignment now gorgeous, we have to get this young lady changed and send her home. This is a Whitlock.” He told her.
“You mean… It cannot be. We searched for years.” She gasped now looking me head to toe.
“They did a good job hiding her, ya would never know by looking at her child form, I think though, once we help her change back she’ll look different again.” He went on.
“Right then, we best hurry. Handsome, can you get her something to wear and shoes from wardrobe please. Celeste sweetheart, I want you to picture yourself as a human again, feel it with in you.” She spoke softly.
“I think I would rather stay this way, I feel stronger now, and no one can hurt me.” I replied.
“Oh sweetheart, I know but I can promise you now, we won’t let anyone hurt you and you know now how to protect yourself, we really must be going. I feel he will come back for you and you are needed elsewhere.” She coaxed me.
I took a deep breath, Sage is right. The voice told me I had somewhere to go to get the answers I need. Closing my eyes I imagined myself in my human form, and slowly I felt myself change. I was expecting to look exactly the same as I did before, how wrong I was. I felt different still but not as a ‘Lythari’ as Micky said. I went to the window to check my reflection, what I saw was a full figured woman with short white hair in place of my dull brown, I had pointed ears and beautiful green eyes and I was a little taller than before, by about 6 inches.
“Whoa, is that really me? I mean my hair could have grown a little but overall wow.” I stared stupidly at myself, before remembering I was naked and ducking down behind the poor sofa.
“Hey handsome, have you got the clothes.” Sage yelled just as Mickey came back
“No need to yell gorgeous, here they are, I’ll give ya’s a minute” he left immediately.
Sage came to me with a pair of black shorts, a tank top, a thin red jumper and some white sand shoes. I graciously took them and dressed quickly, I was starting to feel exceedingly hungry and tired. Sage called for Mickey to come back and to bring a snack for me. His definition of ‘a snack’ was more like a supreme grilled cheese sandwich, which pleased my stomach immensely. While I ate, the two of them discussed the plan.
“We should leave tonight, the sooner the better.” They agreed
