CHAPTER 5

"Come on you two let's s have a drink," Justin was surprised. He does know me as a tight person but the way I talk freely and laugh tells him that this girl is not just anyone.

We entered the main club and sat at a round table.

" So Reem, long time, how have you been?" I asked.

" Fine, I have been exploring, and that's why I'm here,"

"I'm planning to head to Africa soon."

"Oh? I never knew you could be a tourist," I said flatly. She was lying so I knew her well she was my best friend and roommate too."Sure but things change, people change too," She says.

"You're right! It happens," I pretended to have understood but we both knew it wasn't the case.

"Reem, This is Justin, my big brother," I told her.

Her eyes widened it was like she didn't expect that, but she managed to keep her emotions intact that's always a weapon of the powerful families. Reem is not an exception she was the president's daughter but she is probably hiding her identity here given the circumstances. "Oh, I knew you had a brother, but I didn't know his name or his appearance, I'm sorry I thought he was your boyfriend,"

"It's okay no problem...."

"Miss Michaels, Mr. Michaels, miss..."Reem" she offered

Miss Reem, good evening?" he greets chuckling inwardly.

"Hey Lenny, Give us a drink, please," at your service ma'am.

He said disappearing into the bar.

"Sorry, I have to take this... Hello Priscilla, is everything okay," I asked my nanny, "No ma'am, it... it's Titan, he has a fever...

"I'll be right there," I said standing up, "Guys forgive me but I can't be able to drink with you tonight, Reem here is my number, please give me a call and we will have a girl's out."

"What is it, Nana?" um nothing serious don't worry I can handle it, actually do me a favor, will you? Keep Reem company, and if she likes you can drop her at my place, right Reem, for some days before you continue your tours," I was about to walk when Justin hold my wrist, "Nana I know that look, spill it out," I sighed "Okay, it's Titan..."What no I'm coming with you!" He stood up high, "Justin..." I tried to talk him out of it, "Not a chance... Don't get me started.

"Okay, Reem come with us,"

"No, I should probably go back to my hotel room," she said.

"Reem, look my son has a fever and my brother has always been the only other person close to him apart from me, I'm going to take him to the hospital and I'm not leaving you here now let's go," I told her everything in a blink.

"Alright," she said standing up.

"Wait, what?" she asked and bother Justin and I turn to look back at her confused. "You have a child, Nana?" she asked and I shrugged. "I do, I told her blantly pull her hand since she looks like she was clued there. Over the ride home we talked and laughed.

We reached home but my son's condition is getting worse of the years.

Half an hour later Justin is driving us to the hospital. Titan cuddled in my arms, he was burning. "Mom, am I going to die?" his little voice cracked... I felt a sharp pain in my heart if only I could do anything for my son. "No, you won't, mommy will make sure that you are alright.don't you worry about it, now close your eyes and sleep. When you wake up, you will be all fine." I soothe him to sleep.

"Miss Michael, please come in," a female voice surprised me at thr hospital door, I turned to look at my brother. "Thank you," my voice coming out as I whispered, I didn't know that he called Titan's doctor beforehand so she was just waiting for our arrival.

"Dr.Janny, thanks," I shaved down my emotions and entered the room.

I put Titan on the bed and sat down on the chair as Dr. Janny, begin working on him.

"His health is continuously deteriorating as he grows the disease in his body also increases. Nana, I'm sorry but you really have to do something soon," she said seriously.

Titan was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic which has greatly affected his health. He needs a bone marrow transplant and I have searched every place for a suitable bone marrow for him and still not successful. This has given me sleepless nights, I can't help but think that his father is the only hope remaining.

I asked Reem and Justin to go and rest well I spent the night in the hospital with Titan. The following morning, I took him home and called our personal doctor. After some tests he referred a doctor that I hired to keep at eye on Titan at home.
