Chapter 21

3659 Words
The glorious planet of Zaleon began with a single flame of fire. One that created an entire planet. A globe that held absolutely nothing but fire and a lonely, heartbroken human figure of a man who had lost it all. For centuries the only thing that existed on the unnamed planet had been Leopold. A singular person who wept and cried for centuries upon edge, forgetting all surroundings. Fire had been the only thing burning the planet, until the day the broken man decided to pick himself up, and make a plan that he hoped would succeed. He vowed to himself that no longer would he sit in his sorrows and drown in his tears, instead he would make good out of the life Cassandra had graciously blessed him with. She had crippled and destroyed herself for him, and the least he could do to repay that gift was to create something that his love would be proud of.      He started off by calming himself down, reducing the fire that lay until it was completely gone. He then thought to create a world, one where life would be worth living, unlike his own planet. A system of kingdoms was not what he wished to have, though a system with a hierarchy was certainly needed. In his life, Leopold had only seen nobility and commoners, and his aim now was to create a planet where no matter the level, people would be given soulmates. The idea had originated from the humble life he wished to have despite the differences of the rich and the poor, though sooner or later a thirst for vengeance upon his parents had ensured that Leopold create a world where the top tier of the hierarchy would be the only ones who didn’t receive a soulmate. It was an evil trick, one that the flame had played deliberately, using his people as pawns to play out a scenario much like his own with an ending he much preferred.      The strongest 6 of Vermillion were a creation of hate, one that despite being strong and blessed, were doomed for darkness. The light that he had seen within his own Cassandra had been experimented several times over the years, with female members of the Yoleg, and even the water Queen herself: Selina Mitrov. Though it wasn’t till the flame felt satisfied with his plans that he finally managed to create the perfect version of Cassandra: Eliana. Within her he buried the ability to control water, and instilled a part of the necklace that belonged to the woman he loved. Though the secret ingredient to making the perfect reincarnation of Cassandra was to make the perfect reincarnation of himself, and make them soulmates, connected in a way that no one else could. Their lives were bound so tight that one could not die without the other, and despite the shape and form they took, the abilities that lay within them were far greater than either would expect.      Razaar’s rejection for Eliana had been an issue that the flame had no control over, though as terrible as people may have thought it was for the flame, for Leopold it was a matter of laughter, realising that he had done exactly the same thing to his own Cassandra at first. Their eventual merging had been all the necessary satisfaction he needed to keep watching the catastrophe he had created. But, why did the flame create a world that was bound to end?     It was as simple as revenge. Creating the strongest 6 had been a decision that would only be temporary on a planet where the flame had carefully scripted out a prophecy that one day would reach the hands of the Vermillion. The prophecy stated the name of the people that would be the doom of the strongest 6, and so the most powerful and glorious people on the planet would be left to face a fate they never had imagined coming across.     Throughout their lives the Vermillion had wondered why the flame never granted them the idea of soul mates, though when the prophecy came to hand much hate was channeled towards the source of their creation, and they wondered what they were being punished for. In truth the strongest 6 had been sculpted with the frames of the enemies of Boraq, the Kings and Queens that had been the source that had separated the lovers, and in this life they would pay the consequences. With the luxuries they had, they had developed a sense of bravado and confidence, thinking over time that they would be on the winning end of things, all they had to do, was strike first. The passion that pushed them was the hatred for the flame that despite giving them power had clear favourites to pick on the planet. At first the Vermillion had never interacted with anyone on the lower scheme thinking that it was the order that created them, though soon enough they realised the opposing forces against them, and the people that were not half as cunning when they were created suddenly turned into the most hated and evil 6 of all Zaleon.      No Galon had existed upon Crest, for the flame wished not to ever have to interact with the enemies he created from the passion of his parents on his own planet, and he would ensure that he did everything in his power to destroy them to avoid feeling half as guilty for what his love had given up for him. It seemed like a child’s play, a script that he played to his advantage, and despite the unfairness of the entire situation, Leopold initiated the act with all the passion he had left. With everything set in motion, he sent the prophecy to the mind of the Vermillion Witches, the only two with mind reading abilities that would no doubt pass the message on to the rest. To say the least, that interaction had been the start of the great war to come.     Crest had been laid out in such a way that it seemed too familiar to the human planet. It was the only zone on the planet with human devices and machinery, and despite having no one else on the zone to serve them as servants, all were blessed with the technical servants that the Vermillion Witches had put together with their immense powers.      The Vermillion Witches consisted of the twin siblings: Elize and Daraz. Holding the power to do so much more than any other on the planet. They had the ability to implement on a planet with nothing, a human life with the technology they could rob using only their minds from Earth.      The Doirekh’s were the only sizable dragon shifters of the planet, and were formed of the triplet siblings: Stregov, Dregov and Amana, out of which the sister seemed to be the only normal person amongst the lot of 6. With the ability to turn into a fire spitting dragon that could be as large as the entire planet, it would have been easy for the three to conquer the planet in one go. Though as fate would have it, they knew their chances of winning would still be low knowing that the dear flame had its favourites.      The one and only Vermoca on the planet had been Liem. A man who kept to himself, a man who secretly had obsessions that lay way beyond the ones of the rest. His thirst for vengeance against the flame was perhaps the worst of them all, still he disguised it with a mask of calamity and tranquility, going on about his days with an attitude of nonchalance. Though a man so silent was a man equally as dangerous, and his capabilities had yet to be revealed.      Altogether the 6 lived harmoniously, in a lack of love and unity, existing as individuals amongst themselves that had no choice but to remain lonely and rejected. It was a life they had gotten used to, and needed not an escape from. Until the day came that the big revelation was made.      It was a day like no other, Elize and Daraz had retrieved from the human planet Earth all the newest technologies that for years would entertain them, TV’s, phones robots, the Vermillion were blessed with things that any other member on Zaleon would struggle to comprehend, though in the great war to come, these technologies would be futile, for Zaleon was already a planet ready for war and battles. Weaponry on the planet Leopold had created was already advanced, and human ammunition, no matter how dangerous, was not half as powerful as the one on the planet itself, only unfamiliar.    The process to retrieve human technology was as fast as the technology itself, and within minutes the twins would manifest into their reality an item that was as entertaining as the last. It was upon a request made by Stregov that the dear Elize decided to provide the man that had been furiously flirting with her, with an item of his choice, when the twin suddenly collapsed with a pain that was far greater than anything they had ever felt.      ‘Elize! What’s wrong? Dregov! Amana! Liem! Something is wrong with Elize and Daraz!’ Yelled the Doirekh, holding the shoulders of the woman in fits. The three arrived within a second to check on the scenario, and when they did none found a solution to their problems. Luckily the problem found a solution to itself when the twins relapsed from their breakdown and recomposed to reality to face the rest of the 6. Elize and Daraz shared a glance with each other, not knowing what to do or say, other than to share the information they had just received with the rest, and tentatively they stood up, and Daraz let his sister lead the conversation.     ‘It was a prophecy. The flame gave us a prophecy’ she began, getting no response in return whatsoever as all waited for the truth to be out. ‘It was a prophecy of our end’ she spoke, creating confusion between all.      ‘Our end? What do you mean? Whose end exactly?’ Amana posed, worried the most. Elize took a deep breath and attempted to formulate the words that would properly describe what had been going on in her mind, though before she could Daraz beat her to it.    ‘The prophecy spoke of a pair. A couple on Gloarian that will destroy us, the 6 of us’ he revealed, unsure yet of how he felt on the matter. No one had reacted as the words came out, the only thing that surrounded the air was silence. Pin drop silence.     ‘How?’ Questioned Stregov, plucking the courage to move out of his alarmed state of confusion.      ‘We don’t know. All it showed was the image of a war scene, one where all 6 of die’ spat Daraz, anger finally taking over his thoughts.      ‘I don’t get it, what did we ever do to the Ivory that they would want to kill us? Besides, how would the Ivory kill us anyways? They’re Ivory, we’re Vermillion, surely that means we’re stronger than them’ Dregov spoke, adding on to the frustrating matter at hand.      ‘I don’t know why or how or when for that matter. All the prophecy showed was an image of a couple destroying all of us. Now I don’t understand what the flame has against us, but I’m done sitting down and pretending for the sake of the flame that we should coexist in peace. First the flame denied us the right to mates, then it denied us the right to Galon’s and now it’s denying us the right to life. I don’t know about all of you, but I’m done following the order of the flame. I would rather fight this battle and become the purest of evil rather than wait and watch the flame release it’s unfair anger upon us’ snapped a fuming Elize. She had been the most vibrant of them all, and surely she would cook up a plan that would do what she had intended to do: destroy the planet.      ‘Elize is right, I think we should take action before the Ivory couple does. Is there a name for this couple?’ Stregov posed with the utmost curiosity.     ‘Eliana Genova and Razaar Solonov’ responded Daraz, thinking through the plan his sister had laid out.      ‘Elize, what did you have in mind to destroy them?’ Amana investigated, wanting to know what she was going to get herself into, as the only normal member of the 6.      ‘Oh, I’m not just talking about destroying this couple, I’m talking about destroying the entire bloody hierarchy. That’s what the flame loves the most, doesn’t it? The flame gave them mates, Galon’s and despite being less able to do the things we’re able to, they seem way too happy for my liking. I want to destroy the entire hierarchy system, I want us to be the last living 6 on this planet, maybe then the flame will learn not to hate us or mess with us. We have the power, it’s been caged up for so long, now is the time to use it. What do you say, Vermillion?’ Her question had brought laughter to the table from the distant Vermoca, who stood further away from the rest, leaning on the side of the table as he heard the entire conversation.      His views, of course, were the worst of them all, and the laugh he released had intended to be an evil one, one that agreed immediately with the plans of the Vermillion Witch.      ‘Something funny, Liem?’ Asked Amana, not quite ever understanding the mysterious nature of the only living Vermoca.      ‘You intend to destroy the hierarchy and get back at the flame, that’s all great. How do you plan to do it?’ He had asked, playing with the fruit he had picked up from the table. Everyone around him had agreed with the question, and faced Elize for a well deserved answer before they made their decision.      ‘We work from the inside, of course. Daraz and I have the ability to spot evil, surely there is an evil with a greater purpose on Ivory that would be willing to help us. Once he destroys the couple, we can move on and destroy the entire planet’ the plan that the Witch had suggested had seemed too easy and too faulty, and that much had been made obvious to everyone around her.      ‘What makes you think we’ll succeed? Even if we do manage to kill the pair, how do we kill the rest? The Amethyst Witches may not be as strong as you and Daraz, but they are powerful. The very purpose of the Warmecks is to fight and if we end the Yolegs then nature will surely collapse. The Fairens clearly won’t be helping us. The Ivory, well, I wouldn’t happen to know why an Ivory would turn against its own kind’ Amana mentioned, bringing her knowledge and wisdom to the table.      ‘The Ivory wouldn’t turn on each other, unless we offer them a place here, on Crest, with us. We give them the opportunity to be a part of us, and for that alone they would get the job done’ Liem suggested, walking to where the lot stood with his fruit still in his hand. The rest remained silent, processing the words of the silent man who only spoke occasionally, and within the moment, thoughts had sparked in everyone’s head.       ‘What if no one decides to become our pawn?’ Asked Dregov, taking his sisters side on the smarter end of things.      ‘Well we make them. We are Vermillion Witches, they are Ivory, one way or another we get a pawn. As for the Amethyst, with the couple gone they should not be hard to get rid of’ spoke Elize, confident that her plan would succeed. As the flirt he was, Stregov grabbed the woman by her waist and pulled her close to him.      ‘You are a smart one indeed. I am in’ he spoke, mostly to her, though everyone had heard. His own sister, however, had a few things to say about the matter.      ‘Are we all forgetting that this has come out of a prophecy? What makes us think that the Ivory couple will be destroyed so easily? If they are the ones to destroy the strongest 6 on the planet there must be something special about them. Surely it won’t be as easy as it sounds to get rid of them. I just don’t think this plan is-’     ‘Then what else would you rather have us do Amana? Read them a book? Negotiate with them? Talk to them and ask them politely? Why don’t you get it? Our entire existence is at stake here, and we need to do something about it!’ a raging Elize snapped, now face to face with the sister of the man that had been crazy for her. Stregov had done nothing to protect his sister, knowing she was more than capable of protecting herself.      The wise woman stood with her head held high, keeping her stance as she did so.      ‘Do what you want, I am out of this rubbish plan. Your anger is clouding you from thinking correctly. The flame may have put us in this situation, and that is something I do not appreciate, but you aren’t doing anything to get us out of it with your terribly thought out plan. When you decide to stop being the boss here and asking for help, I’ll ensure you have something more firm to go on with’ spat Amana, storming out of the room where the rest remained, including her brothers.      ‘Look Elize, as much as I am all in for this, my sister is right, we need a proper plan. Is there any way you could figure out what’s happening on Ivory? Find a weak link? Perhaps if we find a weak link on Gloarian and Tetra we could take them both out together?’ suggested Dregov, earning a glare from his brother, who needed his siblings on the side of the girl he admired.      ‘We can look into it'' began a sensible Daraz, wanting to keep his sister's anger at bay. ‘We’ll look into it, in the meantime we just need to know that all of you are on board with this’ he addressed, clearly siding with his sister and having had enough discrimnation on the flame’s behalf.      ‘Yes’ spoke Stregov, once again pulling Elize to him. Dregov only had enough time to share one look with his brother, before having no choice but to add on.      ‘Alright’ he agreed reluctantly.      ‘Liem?’ Asked Elize, waiting for his smirk to drop and his reply to arrive.      ‘Sure, darling’ he responded eventually, finally taking a bite of the fruit that for so long he tossed around in his hands.      ‘Great, let’s get to work, we need to train. Daraz and I will go find out what we can about the Ivory’ stated the Witch, grabbing onto her brother before dragging him outside to their meditation spot, the only spot where most of their mind reading was done. As powerful as they were, it was not something that came easily to them, for they had little practice reading into what was happening on the other tiers, though given the circumstances they would have to do everything to figure out the inside stories of Gloarian.       For hours they searched and persisted in finding the weak link on Ivory, though between the sheets of good people and more good people they seemed like they were at a loss. Elize was a strong woman, however, and her passion for hatred had pushed her further and further into her own mind, until a certain figure stood out, and she knew from there that she had found her escape route from the situation the flame had put them in.      Yelling for everyone to reunite, she gathered the lot into the same circle, excluding Amana who stood at the corner of her door, watching the rest speak in private and knowing they were doomed from the very beginning. The woman knew better than to join a group where hatred had led the plan, and her already tentative relationship with the bossy woman who thought she knew it all had been enough reason for the smart woman to step back and enjoy the ridicule her people, including her brothers, would soon be facing. She could only imagine the look on their faces when they would fail, though then she would have a plan ready, and she would prove Elize wrong.  In the meantime she stood away, listening to the grand revelation the Witch had to deliver to the rest of the strongest 6 of Zaleon.     ‘We found a weak link to use as a pawn. He lives on Gloarian and is the Alpha of the Lycans, a man evil and filled with hatred towards his kind. His name is Balthazar Tin.’
