Chapter 14

3690 Words
‘She’s in the dungeons? Ozak, what is your sister in the dungeons?’ Asked a taken back Anya, wondering exactly what she had missed out on in the past three years of meditation. After asking her mate how her sister and parents were doing, the revelation that said sister was now locked up in the dungeons was something she most certainly did not understand.      ‘I told you, a lot has happened in the past three years. My father passed away and my mother gave herself to the flame after his death. Ever since my sister has changed, she’s hated the idea of mates because she believes my mother abandoned her. She’s been sleeping around with nightly companions, she’s been cruel and cunning, and recently she tried seducing the great Alpha of Gloarian. She’s out of control, she’s not my sister anymore, she’s just an evil freak’ revealed the master of Yolegs, surprising his mate who returned to her seat on the bed to understand most if not all the things he had said.      ‘The great Alpha of Gloarian? Ivory? On our territory? Why?’ Her questions were endless, and clearly the man had tonnes to explain to the woman he so dearly loved. Though his belief was that the best way to explain the truth to the woman would be to hand her down to the Ivory themselves, and let them do the explaining, and so he grabbed her hand gently, and directed her outside their shack to meet the infamous immortal couple. She remained silent, trusting her man as he led her through their grounds, and as they finally arrived at the shack they were staying at, the door opened immediately, displaying a satisfied looking Eliana, who was glad to have taken her revenge on the blessed man’s sister.      ‘Ozak, please come in. This must be your mate, Anya?’ Asked the woman, only receiving a confused nod from the newest entry. ‘It is so lovely to meet you. My name is Eliana Genova, and this is my mate Razaar Solonov. We are the great Alpha and Luna of Gloarian and co-leaders of the Hybrids’ she  introduced, shaking the hand of the petite woman.      ‘Lovely to meet you’ said Anya, allowing her mate to do the rest of the talking.      ‘Sorry to bother you, though as you can imagine, after three years my mate has a lot of gaps that need to be filled in about what’s happening. So I figured your prophecy could help her understand why you’re here’ he suggested, not needing to say anything else as the Hybrid leader nodded, and displayed the film to the woman who watched attentively at the war she would have to jump into after being away from her mate for three years already. The woman’s eyes remained wide, certainly at the fact that the Ivory woman was immortal, though she remained silent, and only took a deep breath to process it all.      ‘I know it’s a lot to take in. Though somehow the Alpha and Luna have abilities much like our own, of the elements, and they have been training with us to control their powers. Miss Genova here has the ability of water and Mr Solonov the strength of fire. That’s why my sister is locked up, she was using her nature's connection to get to Mr Solonov’ explained the man, bringing the Hybrid leader to confess the one fact that the brother was unaware of. Razaar had been informed on the matter, and had not much to say given the fact that the woman was causing ripples in his new relationship, and he too, believed that she deserved what she got. Despite having been so supportive already, Ozak was still Lyra’s brother, and they could only wonder what his reaction would be like to the news, though they plucked up the courage to reveal the whole truth anyways.      ‘Speaking of your sister, I think there’s something you need to know’ began Eliana, bringing both their attention to her. ‘I went to talk to her earlier, to see if I could appeal to her. Clearly I couldn’t, though when I was about to leave, her mate made an appearance’ she began, bringing even more shock to the table.      ‘Her mate? Who is her mate?’ Asked Ozak, utterly startled.     ‘Umar Bedi, I believe he was-’     ‘In meditation with us for the past three years’ completed Anya, looking back at her mate frantically ‘He’s a lovely boy. So kind and gentle, I can only imagine how that went. What happened? Are they together?’ Questioned Anya, taking over for Ozak, who could only stand still in amazement at the revelations.      ‘Well he was shocked to see her in shackles, and when he asked her why she was in there she began lying to him. He knew she was lying, of course, he had heard part of her conversation with me, and so he turned to me for the truth’ she explained before getting bombarded with more questions.      ‘And? Did you tell him the truth?’ Ozak questioned, and it only made the woman more unsure of how he would react when she would confess her vengeance.      ‘I did. I wasn’t going to lie to the boy, I-’     ‘Good. He’s a decent boy, he doesn’t deserve my sister, especially not when she’s already lying to him’ intervened Ozak, feeling the pain of losing a sister to evil. He felt bad, of course, that the occurrences were happening to his own sister, though he had meant it when he had told her she was nothing to him anymore, for the kind man would not have such a minx for a sister. Noticing his discomfort, Anya placed her hand in his, and squeezed it firmly for reassurance, letting him know she was there for him. ‘Where is the boy now?’ He asked, though it was a question the woman had not known the answer to, and so she shrugged.      ‘I left after telling him the truth, I don’t know what happened after that’ the Hybrid leader responded. The moment had been opportune for the trio who, within the moment, had learnt the whereabouts of the boy in a matter of seconds when a member of the Yolegs came dashing to the shack they were all in, looking for the master of their kind.      ‘Master Ozak, there’s been an emergency at the Galon. We need you’ he requested, and after a brief glance at the Ivory pair, the four of them exited the shack, making their way to the Galon speedily to investigate the occurrences.      The Galoness sat with her eyes open, her expression of slight sorrow as she watched the dancing flames in front of her.      ‘What’s the matter, Galoness?’ Asked Ozak, exhausted since the entry of the pair into his life.     ‘One of you members has just given itself to the flame’ she revealed, causing gasps to erupt within the area. Within seconds the thought of who it could have been struck the Hybrid leader, and guilt had penetrated her in a way she had not expected it to. ‘Umar Bedi’ she revealed, causing a hole to open in Eliana’s heart, who buried herself in the arms of her mate, to comfort her pain. Razaar kept his arms firmly around his woman, knowing that she had thought this was her fault, though a part of him still believed it wasn’t. It was only Lyra’s doing, and had she not decided to stray from her roots, perhaps her mate would still have been alive.      Ozak remained stunned in silence as the woman revealed the truth, and he began wondering what his sister must have been going through. He had no respect for her whatsoever, and part of him understood that it was her fault and she deserved it, but a part of his brotherly instinct still lived, and he knew that he felt for the sister he once very much loved. Silently, he nodded, not knowing how to react.      ‘Thank you for letting us know, Galoness. May the flame bless his soul’ he spoke, turning around to make a quick exit from the place to regain his sense and normality.      So much had happened in the past couple of days for the man, yet he remained strong, and was glad that at least now he had his mate by his side again, no matter what challenge he would have to face. He had no reason  to blame the Hybrid leader, knowing that the truth would eventually have come out, and that the boy truly didn’t deserve to be lied to, he only wished there was another war around the matter. In that brief time he could only imagine all that the Ivory pair would have gone through to get to where they were, beating death, prejudicial struggle and frankly the distance of not being able to be with your mate properly would have already been a struggle he felt for the immortal couple. Once outside, he approached the Hybrid leader, knowing she probably felt the worst out of them all.      ‘Eliana, I can only imagine how you feel about this, but please, I assure you that it isn’t your fault. The truth would have come out sooner or later, and the poor boy truly did not deserve to live a lie with my sister, it would have only caused him more pain. It’s not the greatest news that he has given himself to the flame, though this way at least he won’t get hurt. My sister has gotten what she has wanted and deserved all along, and this has nothing to do with you’ he initiated, comforting the woman who already felt much better with his words.      ‘Thank you, Ozak. You have been very polite. I think Razaar and I will just take the day off today and resume our training tomorrow’ she revealed, taking her leave with the Alpha by her side, holding her hand every step of the way.      Perhaps the only person to have felt the real pain in that situation was Lyra, and if she thought having disappointed her mate was a grand source of pain, then the pain she felt when her mate gave herself to the flame was beyond anything she had ever experienced. She had wailed, cried and sobbed, all through the bars of a cell, without even getting a proper chance to experience life with her mate. Though she was aware that it was very much her fault, the cunning part of her had yet to exit her body, and now more than ever she felt a need to give back to Eliana Genova the consequences of her actions. It was a plan that had no logic, though when it came to evil, it never had any real logic to begin with. Her plan was instilled in her mind like stone: she was going to sleep with the great Alpha of Gloarian, and no one was going to get in the way. Her anger had come a long way, and if she had been evil before, then now it was time to take that evil to a whole new level. Gone was the feeling of guilt that she would be sleeping with someone else after having killed her own mate, it had all been masked by a protective layer of cruel, and it was one that she had only put on to cover the fact that Lyra had been the sole cause of her mate’s death, and she refused to admit it. The blame would go to someone else, and someone else would pay the consequences of her actions.     She had no idea how to get rid of the shackles that had bound her to the cell, though the one thing she hoped to achieve was formidable strength to break out of the cell itself, to put her plan into action. Lyra was aware that her brother would not even bother checking in on her after the occasion, and she took advantage of the extra spiteful feelings to charge against the cell doors that would clearly not end up being strong enough.      That night had been like any other night for the Ivory pair that returned to their shack, hoping everything would be alright, though now knowing the hardships that were yet to come.      ‘You heard him, it’s not your fault Eliana’ spoke Razaar gently, grasping his mate’s chin in his hands as he made her connect eyes with him.     ‘I told the boy the truth, I ruined his experience of having a mate for my own selfish vengeance-’     ‘No you didn’t. It doesn’t matter what your intentions were, you did the right thing. Imagine if that was you in his position, I’m sure you would want to know the truth than live a lie with your mate and find out after a year, it would only have been more painful. Ozak was right, sooner or later the truth was bound to come out, and you only saved the man from living a lie with an evil woman he didn’t deserve’ interrupted Razaar, knowing his words would comfort her in a way that no one else’s words could. The Hybrid leader could only nod, lying in her bed with her head on her mate’s chest, refusing to speak a word in the time that remained. Her mate had respected her wishes, and for the rest of the night, the pair lay together in silence, enjoying each other’s closeness while they still could before turmoil would hit again.     The night was as silent as the rest for everyone in the area, all except Lyra, who had successfully managed to rage out in a way she never had before, though losing a mate did something to her that nothing else in her life had ever before triggered. She had escaped from the dungeons without a singal and hid by the trees, waiting for daylight before she would approach the Alpha and get her mischief over with.      It had not been a well thought out plan, though as fate would have it, when Eliana left her shack in the morning to get the air she so very much needed from all the occurring events, Lyra struck again, though this time had no time to spare or feelings to ignite.      Razaar had been shocked by her entrance into the shack, having thought that she was locked up in a cell, though the manic expression in her eyes said that she was up to no good, but it was out of the man’s control when she placed her fiery hand on his arm, and all around him disappeared. He had no control over himself whatsoever, and the connection of nature had taken over, connecting to itself and allowing the treacherous things to happen.      She allowed no time for talking, and dived into his mouth, pushing him back onto the bed and climbing over, with no shame in her cells as to what she was doing. By the time they had finished mating she lingered on his body for a minute longer, and waited for Eliana to come casually through the doors of her shack to be left wide-eyed and with gasps at the sight ahead of her. It had occurred to her that her mate was innocent in all of this, though the sight in itself had broken the woman in a way she could not begin to fathom. She stumbled back, hitting the wall of the shack as Lyra climbed off her mate and put her clothes back on. By this time Razaaar had regained his consciousness, and as he returned to reality and noticed the sight around him, it was too late for him to do anything.      ‘Next time think about it before you mess with me, Luna’ was all she said, though received no response from the Hybrid leader.     His nakedness along with Lyra’s had not been a good sign already, though the look on his mate’s face had said it all, and the horrified Alpha remained wide eyed at all that had just happened that he could not have stopped.      ‘Eliana-’ his words were cut off when the woman took off from the shack, rushing out of not only the shack, but off Yoleg territory itself. She needed to be alone, and she needed no one to be around her. She recalled the Yoleg masters words, understanding the feeling herself from having experienced it for a mere second, and despite not blaming her mate, she could not bear the trauma the sight had left behind for her. Having dealt with Eiva had been one thing, though dealing with another woman whilst she was very much in the picture was something she hoped she would never have to experience. She knew it wasn’t infidelity if he had no choice in the matter, though she wished more than ever she would have snapped the neck of the woman who for some unknown reason was out of her cell.     Ozak had yet to discover the events, though as the Alpha dressed himself, he spat at the woman who had just manipulated him and rushed out of the tent, needing his mate in his arms to explain despite not having much to say. The master appeared in his line of sight soon after, concern taking over his face at the expression of the Alpha.      ‘Razaar, what’s wrong?’ He asked, not appreciating the anger the man was radiating.      ‘Did you let her out of her cell?’ Was all he questioned, raging at the occurred events. A confused Ozak frowned, knowing he was referring to his sister but not knowing what had happened.      ‘No, what do you mean-’     ‘She slept with me. She escaped from her cell, manipulated me and slept with me without my consent. Eliana walked in and now she’s gone and I don’t know where she is’ hyperventilated the Alpha, not knowing what to feel exactly. The truth was that the Alpha had been taken advantage of and he was suffering the pain his mate was going through, and perhaps he had it worst out of all of them, though he knew for sure one way or another he needed his mate back in his arms. That is all that mattered to him. Ozak remained speechless, now having no remorse whatsoever about locking up his sister, though he knew that it had not been enough to teach the woman a lesson, nothing had been, and stricter actions were due.     ‘Razaar, I’m so sorry. I don’t-’     ‘I need to find Eliana’ he interrupted, not caring about the words of empathy the man had for him, and with that he was off, searching for his mate in whatever direction he could, unaware still that she had left Yoleg territory on the whole.     The woman had nowhere else to go but to the doors of an old friend on the land of the Amethyst Witches, and when a surprised Irina opened the doors to a sobbing immortal woman, her initial instinct could only have been to the hold the woman who jumped into her arms and continued crying for as long as she could.      Razaar’s lack of presence had made it evident that something had gone wrong between the two, though the truth would come out sooner or later and with it would come the judgments of the Amethyst Witch leader that would have her own say in the matter. In the meantime she led Eliana to the living room, where she allowed the woman to pour her soul out in the form of her tears, and when the woman had fallen asleep in her arms, she placed a thick blanket on her figure and stepped out for just a minute to answer to Vulen, who could only watch with wide eyes as the dramatic scene played out.      ‘I don’t know exactly what it is, and I’m sure she’ll tell me when she awakens, but I think Razaar may have messed up. I think it might be worth writing him a letter to let him know she’s here. He might be worried’ she spoke, having the man’s back as always, having not thought that it would be a matter so intimate they had been through. Nevertheless it had not been the fault of the Alpha, and he had every right to locate his mate and ease his mind from the tensions he too had to carry upon his shoulders.      For the rest of the night the Hybrid leader slept, dreaming in a land where worries and obstacles were not present, enjoying the liberty of a free world where only what she wanted was possible before she would have to return to the reality of her situation and face the incidents that sooner or later she would have to go head to head with.      What would happen between the reincarnations of Leopold and Cassandra? Would they survive this turmoil or would this be the issue that becomes their downfall?
