‘What were you thinking?’ Questioned the master of Yolegs, an expression of disappointment on his face. His sister had been a rebel since birth, though she had never quite focused on wrecking relationships before, at least not to his knowledge. This side of her had been a deception for the man who had always been a protective older brother to the girl, though he had not been impressed with what he was seeing. The Ivory couple were not only the two chosen ones of the flame, but they were also people who just got their relationship together, and were at the start of something incredible. Ozak had not wished his sister to be present on training grounds, knowing she would certainly cause trouble, though he didn’t have much of a choice, knowing she was the only one capable of passing on her skills to someone else. No one else on the land of the Yolegs had learnt the effective art of communication, and as skilled as they were, none knew how to convey that to anyone else, except Lyra. It was a choice he had reluctantly made, and one he would surely regret judging by the expression on the woman’s face.
‘I was thinking that the great Alpha of Gloarian is an attractive man, and I want him’ spoke the insensitive woman, blatantly confessing her plan. Ozak was a man who perhaps never got angry, and as frustrated as he was, he refused to let himself bring out the anger. Taking a deep breath, he faced his stubborn sister in the best way he could.
‘Lyra, if you cause any trouble, I will have to move you away from training. They are mates, why even bother meddling and wrecking their relationship?’ He questioned, attempting to reason with her. Though the woman would have the last word, she would make sure of it.
‘They are not a mated couple. Clearly something is wrong with the woman’ she commented deliberately to annoy her brother more.
‘Lyra, imagine if you found your mate and someone did the same to him, you would get possessive too. Mated or not, that is their problem not yours. Stay away from the Alpha, that’s an order’ he said sternly, giving her the eyes of warning, Though it had no effect on the woman whatsoever that had still planned to stick to the plan she had originally had in mind.
‘An order? You may be the master around here, but I’m your sister, you cannot order me around. This is my life, I shall do as I please. Besides, if the Alpha is so loyal to his mate then there should be no problem with me flirting around’ her intentions had become quite transparent to her brother, and despite his words he knew she would certainly be an issue. He would not take the chance in ruining their only hope of keeping nature safe.
‘Then you are banished from training. I will not risk the life of our nature because of your childish mentality. If you cannot keep it in your pants then you will not be allowed onto my training grounds’ he spoke with an imperative tone. It had hurt him more to see his sister jump to her collapse than it had to restrict her, though it was necessary. He had known the feeling of being loved by his mate, and he knew he would most certainly not want anyone else to interfere if he had her in his arms. Why his sister could not comprehend the concept was something he could not fathom, nevertheless he would not waste his time arguing with someone who did not deserve his time.
‘You think your order is going to keep me away from him?’ She questioned arrogantly, every word of his convincing her more and more to do unacceptable things.
‘No, but I know Eliana will. The woman is immortal, and despite being a shifter possess the ability of water, that woman is a lot stronger than you think, and I’m not going to save you from her if you manage to piss her off enough, which I’m sure you will’ he commented, getting on with his morning routine before having to depart for the training. He had yet to find someone to replace his sister in training, and as terrible as that would be it was better than the alternative. The man loved his sister to bits, though agreed with the right thing more than the relation of blood. Lyra scoffed, her attitude getting to her head.
‘You really have little faith in me brother’ she commented, rolling her eyes and turning away. Before she could exit his home, she was stopped by his final words that managed to hurt her in the slightest.
‘You’re wrong sister. I don’t have little faith in you, I don’t have any faith in you’ he countered, bringing her rage forward that she used as a shield to keep the tears away. Though Ozak left before she could respond, and so the woman was left to her lonesome to think about the harsh words of her brother. They had always had a great relationship, and all in the span of minutes, everything had taken a turn. Lyra blamed Eliana for the occurring incidents, and now more than ever wished to take her revenge, though like her brother had mentioned perhaps it was best not to mess with the immortal woman.
Lyra cared not for the consequences that were to come, she had already schemed an evil plan to get her revenge and get the Alpha she was so fond of. The one thing her brother was forgetting was that she was skilled with the element she possessed: fire, and she would do everything in her power to use that connection she shared with the Alpha to get him on her side. It was a trick that only she and few other Yolegs knew of, and she would exploit it to the maximum despite being forbidden from doing so.
The master headed towards the clearing where one of his men had already led the pair, and at the lack of sight of the sister, the Hybrid leader sighed in relief, ready to learn about the extra powers they had been given.
‘Alpha, Luna, welcome. Thanks for coming’ he began, preparing for the training that was to come by seating himself in the center of the clearing they were in.
‘Please, call us Razaar and Eliana’ mentioned the Alpha, who followed by seating him and his mate down too. The Hybrid leader had refrained from speaking in case her innermost feelings about Lyra decided to come out for a visit.
‘Very well, shall we begin?’ He initiated with enthusiasm that genuinely had the pair excited to learn more about themselves than they ever had. ‘Close your eyes, and start by identifying your element inside of you. This may sound like absolute rubbish, but in the human world humans are the very core of their Earth, just like we are of Zaleon. They are bound by the grounds they walk on every step of the way, they just don’t know it. Their elements are connected to them as we are to the elements on Zaleon. Feel your power within, locate that feeling. Whatever it was that caused you to realise your powers, find that feeling again, spot the fire and water within your bodies’ he guided, his eyes closing upon instinct to do the same. As strange as it all sounded, the pair closed their eyes to focus on the words that the man was saying, and as hard as they tried, they could not ignite the spark that would cause their powers to emerge upon demand. Frustration would obviously get in the way, though Ozak would try his best to maintain the patience in the area, knowing that it had taken him a while to connect to his element too. ‘Do not expect to get this in the first go, it’s a question of patience, give your mind all the time it needs to adapt to what I’m saying to you. Let your mind wander around your body and locate the element where it's hiding.’ He spoke, doing the same within himself. Due to the practice he’s had for so long, it wasn’t hard for the man to connect with the water that flowed in his system, and he could only hope that soon the pair would feel it too.
Eliana had mustered up the courage to face the unexplained power that was dormant within her for so long, and as hard as she tried, she could not see the stream of water anywhere.
Razaar, on the other hand, had begun seeing the images of fire within him from the very minute, and a smile had drawn upon his face at the feeling that consumed him in the very moment. Though the only mistake had been for him to think it was his own doing that brought it forward. The man had yet to realise that Lyra had already put her play into action, and she sat right in front of the man whose eyes were closed, laying her hands on top of his subtly so he wouldn’t notice. The connection that had formed with the elements raised sparks within his body, though not as strong as the ones his own mate had created. It was, however, an electrifying feeling, one that he craved more of, like a drug. The addictiveness had already begun getting to him, and as everyone remained with their eyes closed, Lyra continued to take advantage of the situation.
Ozak had been a master for many years, and over the years he had learned to identify the aura’s of different people around his group. As the strength of fire increased around him, his eyes opened immediately, and at the sight he could not stop himself from putting his sister in the danger she would soon face.
‘Lyra?’ His question had opened eyes faster than lightning, and upon realising the position they were in, the Alpha remained stationary, entranced by the connection of their physical touch. Eliana, however, had other plans in mind, and noticing her mate’s lack of movement, she took matters into her own hands. As quickly as she could, she had the woman pinned to a tree by the neck, and pressed down hard, intending on taking the life of the woman who remained smirking in the position.
‘You chose to mess with the wrong couple I’m afraid’ uttered Eliana, her real power coming out stronger than ever. Razaar had jumped out of his trance, though remained immobile for the first few minutes to process what was happening. Ozak had refused to help his sister knowing she fully deserved what she was getting.
Though at the lack of movement from her brother, the angry woman took it upon herself to defeat the leader her brother had thought so brave. She brought all the fire within her upwards, channeling it towards her neck, where the Hybrid leader had held a grip of her tightly. Within seconds the burning had caused Eliana’s hand to loosen around her neck, and she pulled it back with a slight whimper, glaring at the chuckle of the enemy. It was at a time like this that the immortal woman’s instincts had kicked in, and the water she could not spot within herself came flowing out as she regained her strength and connected her hands to the fiery neck of the woman, battling it with her own strength of water. It was a sight that had stunned both Razaar and Ozak, who simply watched the already powerful woman be consumed entirely by it as she began the process of taking the life of the flirty woman. Lyra had realised that the hold on her neck had been too tight, and as she began losing consciousness, she saw the power radiate from within the leader that was killing her.
‘Next time you think of getting close to anyone, think twice’ spat the Hybrid leader, dropping the woman to the ground, watching her as she coughed to regain her breath back. Eliana had been surprised at her own self control, and was shocked to see that nor her mate nor the brother of the woman had stepped forward to stop her, though she knew better than to murder someone out of jealousy. She had hoped that her actions had been enough demonstration for the woman to have learnt her lesson, but only time would tell.
Lyra picked herself off the ground, her eyes connecting initially with her brothers in pain. He showed no remorse however, and only shrugged, watching her run out of the area.
‘You did not intervene?’ Eliana’s voice shook the master’s attention to the observation, and the man had no issue with revealing his reasons.
‘She told me this would happen, which is why I banished her from training with us. Though my sister is stubborn, she challenged my orders, and I knew she would. I had warned her that she would have to face your wrath, and I made it very clear that I would not be taking her side. Despite our blood relation she is still wrong, and I only side with what is right. I am glad you did not kill her though as she is my only family left, so thank you for that. I’m hoping she’s learnt her lesson now’ he spoke bluntly, amusing the pair. Lyra’s final expression of hurt had been a clear indicator for the brave woman to know that it wasn’t the last time she would be attempting a stunt like this, but Eliana was confident that no matter what, the next time she would be ready to do what she had to. The main thought burning in her head, however, had been the sight of her mate stationary in front of a woman that was clearly attempting things she shouldn’t be with him, and that would be a conversation she would have with him later.
‘I don’t think she’s quite done yet, Ozak, but I think she knows now that I am not to be messed with. On the bright side, I think I found that water that I’ve been trying to for a while’ she commented, lightening up the mood and resuming the session they had started.
The Alpha had blanked out and had not realised the words of concern that his mate would have with him, though very soon he would, and it would not be pleasant. In the meantime, he too, carried on as normal, attempting to connect with his fire in the same way he had, unaware that it was her that had caused the spark the first time.
‘Right, as I was saying, please, focus inside yourselves. Whatever you did back there Eliana, that’s the feeling you need to reach, without getting angry, that is. You need to be able to control your powers without your feelings. These elements are a part of you, they flow within you as a part of you. When you move around they move with you, you are one with them, find that connection, find that merge. Only then will you be able to move forward. Feel the current inside of you, connect with it’ he spoke, leading the pair into a deep meditative state that for hours they could not break out of. By the end of it Eliana was more than capable of feeling the water she had manifested not too long ago, flow within her, creating a peace she had never experienced. Nature truly had a way of connecting with individuals, and as Razaar sat in meditation, attempting to gather the spark, he couldn’t. It was a feeling that frustrated him beyond anything, and one he would go to lengths to recover. Lyra’s trick had been set into action, and it would be a rocky road for the couple who had just about begun their happy journey together.
By the end of the session, Ozak dismissed the pair, and went in search of his sister, finding her sitting by the rock in the woods she would normally be at, this time with an expression of gloom rather than joy. She welcomed her brother with no acknowledgement, only anger rooted in her brain.
‘You didn’t do anything’ she whispered as he sat down beside her, looking into the water for his reflection.
‘I told you I didn’t agree with you. I meant it. What you’re doing is wrong, and one day you’ll see the consequences of it. My job is to show you the right path, if you don’t follow it I cannot stop the after effects. You need to learn your lesson one way or another, and if you won't learn it the easy way, you’ll learn it the hard way.’ He concluded with nonchalance, only increasing anger within the woman who was already fiery. The fire had reached her eyes, and the flame that changed her eye colour had only caused Ozak to shrug. ‘See what I mean? Rather than changing, you’re only diving into this deeper, and it’s not going to end well for you, sister, I assure you that. Plunge out of it while you still can, that’s my last bit of advice to you, if not, get ready to face an immortal woman who will defeat you’ he concluded, elevating from the seat and leaving his sister to figure out her future intentions.
Though for Lyra it only meant that it was time to kick up her plans a notch, and ensure that the Alpha would most certainly end up in the bed of the woman, and betray the mate he currently had. Her intentions had not budged, and that was a dangerous move that was going to cost her everything, but her brother's words had faded away despite holding all the truth in the world, and now the flame only waited to shake up the grounds for the evil woman.
As Eliana and Razaar returned to their shack, the woman thought it the best time to sort out the incident from earlier on in the day. Her cold attitude had yet to become apparent to the man, though when she pushed him away from placing a kiss on her lips, it had become clear that a conversation was well overdue.
‘What’s wrong?’ He asked, hating the silence that his mate was giving him.
‘You tell me. What happened to you back there?’ She asked with the utmost patience, keeping her tone gentle and calm. It was only a worry factor for the Alpha who had yet to realise his mistake and make up for it.
‘What do you mean?’ He attempted to clarify, not even noticing how entranced he had been.
‘You were still. When you opened your eyes and you noticed that she was close to you and touching you. There was no movement to push her away or pull back, you just stood there as she crossed the initial barriers’ she mentioned with calamity, knowing that screaming and yelling would end in no good way for the pair. Past experiences had taught them that, and now that they were official, it was time that they started acting like they were with each other, not against each other. Razaar took a moment to remember the incident, though his memory had been hazy as he had been insanely distracted by the sparks of fire within him.
‘I’m sorry, I didn’t realise. I didn’t know what was happening, it was all so fast’ he tried to justify, giving a less than satisfactory answer to his mate.
‘Well these are the things that you get possessive over me with, and the same is happening now. Though when it comes to me I have always pushed people away, including Hayem. So I think you already know the feeling that I may be going through at the moment. I expect next time you’ll have more control over yourself, and should your mind change about us, then you must inform me immediately’ she stated clearly and professionally, breaking the barriers of love for a brief moment to set up the appropriate communication with her mate. As confused as the man was, he nodded with certainty, attempting to get closer to her once again.
‘Of course, Eliana, you need to believe me when I say that I feel no attraction towards her at all’ he clarified, his words becoming less than believable to a woman who only believed what she saw.
‘Alright’ she responded, moving away as he began approaching her, and going straight towards her bed to get her space ‘I’m going to bed, I’m quite tired’ she terminated, tucking herself to sleep, leaving the Alpha to wonder what had gone wrong for him to upset his mate for the first time since they got together. As guilty as he felt, he knew he would make it up to her since his words had been honest and genuine.
It sure would be a bumpy ride for the pair.
